Only thing missing was the personal touch, e.g. welcoming us when we arrived. A larger welcoming present e.g. with the essentials more biscuits, tea bags, chocolate, sweets. Ducks are nice but leaving mess on patio, maybe a pooper scooper to clean up. Dressing gowns for hot tub would be a luxury or even hot tub towels.

  • "Fabulous stay at The Oaks."

We came here a few years ago and it was just as gorgeous this time around. The lodges are gorgeous and the perfect setting for a winter break (especially as we were lucky enough for snow!) Maintenance came and checked the hot tub every day and the log burner was a real treat. Each room in the lodge is set out very carefully and everything was just perfect, comfortable beds and plenty of cooking things. I would highly recommend booking any of these cottages any time of the year. We’ve stayed in many places around the world in different locations and I honestly think being in the lakes is one of the best places!! These lodges are close enough to walk/ taxi to the restaurants and lake Bowness in 5 min (taxi) but to enjoy the peace and quiet surrounding the complex.
