  • "We had a great 4 nights stay!"

Everything we needed for a lovely stay. Nice quiet and picturesque location which is nicely out the way but not far from local attractions. Was a very comfortable stay would definitely recommend and would definitely come back! Great for our 2 little dogs too! They loved it! Many thanks for a fab stay! Harry and tash x

  • "Absolutely gorgeous pod, fantastic facilities and wonderfully kind host."

We were so appreciative of the groceries and wine that greeted us as a welcome gift! The landscape was beautiful and the donkeys were lovely and friendly. The place itself is tucked away, yet near enough to Kendal for daily trips.

  • "It was a lovely place to stay felt very homely and cosy and I was surprised about the heated flooring, kept me and my partner toasty for our stay."

The facilities were great, the shower pressure and heat was amazing unlike other places I’ve been to. The pod was a perfect place for us as we had activities around the lakes and the location and size was perfect, I did notice quite a bit of cobwebs and dust but it didn’t bother me and was in out of reach areas anyways, just an observation. 5/5 would definitely stay again :)

  • "The pod is in a truly beautiful location with stunning views of the Lyth Valley and the Lake District fells."

There are plenty of wonderful walks in the locality and excellent tearooms a few minutes away. Short drives take you to Milnthorpe, Grange Over Sands and Carnforth as well as Kendal. The pod itself was cosy, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. You can watch pheasants, rabbits and donkeys from the sofa and simply enjoy the peace. It is well worth a visit.

  • "We had a lovely time staying in the pod, Brian was a great host, so friendly and welcoming."

He came to meet us at the pub in the village when we were a bit lost and he guided us to the accommodation. We really enjoyed waking in up to the beautiful views and being greeted by the animals. Thank you again for a wonderful time, we will certainly be returning to the Lake District next year! Laura & Liam Palmer

  • "The Willow Tree Barn Pod is a small but functional dog friendly accommodation, everything you need for a few days self catering is present, a double bed, an en-suite shower room, a fridge, a kitchen area, a dining table, a settee and a small television, Oh… there’s wifi too."

It was clean and tidy and we received a welcome gift of shortbread biscuits, Kendal mintcake and a bottle of wine; tea, coffee and sugar were also provided. The only thing missing was a dustpan and brush to sweep up the crumbs you drop making toast but we bought one and left it so future guests shouldn’t be walking through their own crumbs. All in all I would recommend staying there and hope to do so again, if only to see the resident donkeys. If you do choose to go after reading this review please take a bag of carrots for them.
