The cottage is really well equipped. Sally, the owner, is just the perfect host. Eggs and milk were waiting for us when we arrived which was really handy. Very clean and the beds are fabulous. Would definitely stay again.

  • "I stayed at Sunny Bank for a 4 week period, whilst searching for permanent accommodation in the area."

I had not long arrived from Australia & was working full time. I had also brought my pet cat over with me, & Sally (the owner) was very generous about letting her stay in the cottage with me. Sally is a lovely lady, who was helpful & kind, & her attention to detail in Sunny Bank is a testament to her thoughtfulness for the needs of others. In the 4 weeks I spent at Sunny Bank, I did not want for anything. The cottage has everything you could possibly need, for any length of stay. I imagine if there was something you might want, that wasn’t in the cottage, Sally would do all she could to try & help you out. I cannot speak highly enough of her generosity & kindness. Thank you Sally, for all the hard work & effort you have put into the renovation & modernisation of the 300+ year old Sunny Bank, & then sharing the fruits of all that labour with the rest of us. I highly recommend Sunny Bank to anyone looking for the comforts of a home-away-from-home experience, in a beautiful area of Lancashire.

  • "Lovely little cottage, comfy beds, superb bedding & towels."

Everything needed for a stress free holiday. One or two minor issues with maintenance e.g. handles on woodburner & double bedroom window latch. These issues did not detract from our overall stay. Sally's hosting skills were excellent nothing was too much trouble for her. Thankyou again.

  • "The cottage was very clean, well equipped, and very cosy."

There was milk, eggs and home-baked cookies on arrival, which was appreciated. Having an outside space for my dog was great too. The owner was great with communication, and there were no issues at all. I would recommend this cottage.

  • "Absolutely lovely cottage."

Very clean, comfortable cottage with everything you need and Sally made us feel very welcome. Quiet village with lovely walks which was brilliant as we took Mollie our Spaniel. Dog friendly pub just around the corner with other pubs on the walking routes and even travelled back from Hornby on the bus with Mollie! Had a wonderful time and will definitely be re booking in the future. Thank you.

  • "Beautiful cottage which has been sympathetically renovated to a very high standard by the owner."

We felt totally at home, everything to make our break away peaceful and relaxing had been thought of, Molly our lab loved spreading out on the cool flagstones in the living room!!! Beds comfortable, shower wonderful and kitchen kitted out with premium equipment. Plenty to explore in the surrounding areas - we hadn't realised how beautiful it was, we were extremely lucky with the weather which included a couple of record breaking hot days. Local pub was welcoming serving very reasonably priced food which we sampled a few times during our stay! Thank you Sally for the very enjoyable treats in the fridge! We hope to return to explore more of the area.

  • "The cottage is so incredibly sweet and cozy, a beautiful building with a lot of heart."

The Beds are THE most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in considering I’ve staying in 5* hotels the beds at the cottage are so incredibly comfortable it’s like sleeping on a cloud. The area is quiet although close to pub and shops, there are walks and places to visit close by and I genuinely can’t say how much we really enjoyed our stay and can’t rate it highly enough. We had to be there because of a sudden death in the family and Sally the owners is the sweetest kindest lady I’ve ever known. Sally made sure that we were happy and comfortable and was ready to help with anything instantly and for that I will always respect her for this and also be a loyal customer as well as friend. If anyone needs a comfortable calm clean space to rest then the cottage is definitely the place is to unwind and recharge. Thank you Sally your amazing as your cottage is too
