Julie emailed me a few weeks prior to the stay and went out of her way to send me things she thought we would enjoy in the area. I happened to mention we were staying for my birthday. On arrival we were a little early and so waited outside the property only to be greeted by Julies dog (oh my life, such a cutie!) after a cool 2.5 hour trip, this was an incredibly warm welcome! We were met by Julie who had left a birthday cake, prosecco and banners for my birthday - what a lovely gesture! Above and beyond.. really made my day! The lodge itself is absolutely stunning! The decor is beautiful and the view is amazing! There were 7 of us to enjoy it and boy, did we. It was lovely to have a few areas we could relax, some of us upstairs relaxing in front of the tv, some in the sauna, some in the hot tub and others relaxing in bed watching catchphrase (haha!). We couldn’t have asked for a nicer setting. We ventured out to Kendal - about 20 mins away, and lake Windermere which is just stunning. On my actual birthday we made a journey to the local zoo which is well worth a visit - 10 mins from the lodge and £10 each to see snow leopards! Can’t wait to visit again in the future. Thank-you so much Julie, the little things really are appreciated!
