Further afield is the village of Carmel with its pretty cobbled streets, shops, pubs and restaurants and also a visit to the famous racecourse might tempt you for a flutter on the horses.
Of course, the whole of the Lake District National Park is just waiting to be explored.

Cark in Cartmel is a small Lakeland village just two miles from Cartmel, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District.
