“Owners were really lovely and extremely helpful would definitely like to visit again.”

The property

This lovely cottage, attached to the owner's home, is located by the village of Kirkby in Furness, a quirky and comfortable place to stay, with countryside views on the doorstep.

Enjoy a romantic break for two at Yew Fold, which comes with the benefit of underfloor heating, and a large flat screen TV in the living area.

The open-plan layout comprises of sumptuous sofas and a feature wall, creating somewhere peaceful to relax after a long day out and about.

This leads over to a kitchen, layered with handmade counter-tops and grey units, as well as a pretty dining area, ideal for breakfast in the early hours.

A walk-in shower room has been beautifully designed with a fresh white suite, including a vanity unit and walk-in shower.

For a good night's sleep, settle down in the accessorised double bedroom, coordinated with bedside tables, lamps, and a freestanding mirror, all adding to the contemporary cottage feel.

There is also a built in wardrobe in the hallway between the bedroom and the shower room, suitable for housing your belongings.

Outside you will be pleased to discover the patio area, your own little place to enjoy a refreshing drink in the early hours.

There are nice open views all around and it is quiet and peaceful.

The station and Pam Cafe are a fifteen minute walk up Sandside lane and there are two pubs in Kirkby within walking distance.

Just five miles away is Broughton-in-Furness, which has much to please visitors, including a cobbled square complete with a splendid horse chestnut tree, enclosed by shops, pubs and homes.

The village provides a great base for a walking or a climbing holiday, with ample opportunity to explore the rugged beauty of the Duddon Valley and the quieter Lake District fells.

East of Kirkby-in-Furness is the ancient market town of Ulverston which still holds a street market every Thursday and Saturday.

A wonderful holiday for two.
