  • "The accommodation was perfect."

We had a wonderful Christmas. The house is spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped —- everything a guest could possibly need or want. Despite awful weather during our stay the house remained warm and comfortable at all times. We had a very warm welcome from the owners who live next door ( and contact details if we needed anything) and the milk in the fridge and the wonderful home made cake on arrival were most welcome. Many properties in the Yorkshire villages do not provide space for vehicles so the private parking in the courtyard behind Grange House was very convenient and felt very safe. We would love to return on another occasion. Thank you.

Thank you for your positive feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay in Grange House over Christmas and that you found it well equipped, warm and comfortable. Thank you for your positive comment about the safe off street parking. We are pleased to hear that you would love to return again in the future! Property Owner

  • "The house was ideal for us both from a locational point of view and also overall comfort."

House keep clean and well maintained. Great having 2 TVs and Netflix for a rainy day! Good range of crockery, pots, cutlery ect. The area that caused us an issue was the twin bedroom. It’s very small but more importantly there was no mirror and also 1 of the beds was tight up to the radiator. When the heating came on in the morning it woke me up with a clicking noise and obviously the heat coming through. It prob should be described as a child’s bedroom rather than for 2 fully grown adults. Overall pillows didn’t suit us, very soft with no support, however pillows can be a personal thing.. Owners very friendly and helpful and a lovely cake when we arrived which was much appreciated.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that Grange House was ideal for you in terms of location and overall comfort. We are sorry that you felt that the twin room was small. The twin beds are a standard size. This room has been used by adults many times and up to now we haven’t had any complaints about the size of the room. The radiator does have a thermostat and can be turned down if the room gets too warm for guests. Thank you for your comment about there being no mirror. This is something we will provide. We are pleased you appreciated the homemade cake! Property Owner

Thank you for your positive feedback. In terms of your comment regarding the outside space being limited, there is a seating area with a table and outdoor corner sofa set up in the summer months. The description of Grange House does explain that this patio area is not completely private as neighbours use the patio area to access their property. Property Owner

This proved to be a perfect base to celebrate a very special 80th Birthday. Great location for exploring and lovely and quiet too. Was great to be able to say hello to the owners and the homemade banana loaf was such a lovely touch-thank you! Cottage was spotless and very cosy with everything we required. Well equipped kitchen, perfect for our needs. My teenager loved the snug, which was set up for him instead of using the twin room... perfect for a 16yr old. Smart tvs, beautiful modern showers and a dishwasher were all a bonus! Easy, safe parking and a delicious pub just 5mins drive. (The Bull in Broughton.) The house is very comfortable with plenty of seating in the large airy lounge / dinning room. An upside down house with lovely views over to Skipton and the hills behind. Spotlessly clean throughout . Modern spacious bathrooms . Comfortable beds with fluffy duvets. One slight moan , it’s says in the blurb there is a freezer when it’s an ice box within the fridge, bit of a disappointment. , as we tend to bring meals ready prepared, and have a supermarket delivery the day we get there. Given the large porch a freezer and possibly another fridge wouldn’t go amiss. Moan over ! The village is lovely with very friendly locals. Nice pub ( landlord a bit grumpy) good food , beer and nice staff. We went to the fortnightly quiz Wednesday night ( bingo on alternate weeks) and came joint second! Good village shop sells everything you might need including newspapers. Plenty of walks from the door, 5 minute drive into Skipton. We hope to return and have no hesitation in recommending to others. Thank you

There is a further bedroom with two single beds which looked very well appointed Outside to the rear there is a courtyard with ample secure parking space. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. Immaculately clean. A couple of small things. The bed in the double room was exceptional hard. I really struggled to sleep. The heating wasn’t really warm enough on its existing settings, but we’re at the changeover time of year…. So I had to override. There wasn’t enough hot water for two showers let alone three each morning. Again I had to override the system. Then it was fine. The lorries coming out each morning before 5/6 am woke my sister each day…. . Saying all of that we loved it. And the problems with the T V were all sorted very quickly. I would definitely recommend and was sad to have to leave the night before due to a family emergency without saying thank you. I do hope we can come back. And I do hope the house was left okay as my sister and mother were given the leaving instructions. Apologises if not. Do let me know. Thank you so much and see you again hopefully when visiting family again.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Grange House and appreciate your comment about the property being immaculately clean and that you loved the property. Thank you for leaving the property so tidy. It is unfortunate that you found one of the double beds was too hard. There are two double beds in the property. One is harder than the other to provide a range of bed types for guests. The heating is timed to come on in the morning & evening and if that is not sufficient for guests there are instructions in the house that guests can follow to override the timed settings, which you followed to provide the level of heating you needed during your stay. In terms of hot water, the combination boiler provides constant hot water. There is a small haulage business near to Grange House, however it is not located directly next door to the holiday cottage. Any noise from the vehicles is limited to short periods at the start & end of the day. We are sorry that you were disturbed by vehicle noise. Thank you taking time to leave your review. With the pandemic it made it really difficult for us to all get together so as soon as we were able we needed somewhere that could accommodate our large party and have facilities for us. We came across this property and it was so delightful, the location was perfect, just a stones through from our family and a lovely 20 min walk through the fields to Skipton. It was so peaceful and quiet and the property itself was so lovely, so much storage room, the house was newly furnished and decorated. The kitchen was brilliant and we LOVED the front room with the views of the moors and hills. Very comfortable, very clean. We only were surprised by the layout because we couldn't visualise it through the pictures, we had to see it to understand it, but you have the bedrooms downstairs and the living area and kitchen upstairs... we loved it, it was quirky, accommodating and pleasant, we will definitely be booking in again! - above all else, getting to stay at this property meant our family could spend some much needed time together after almost two years of being apart, and for that we will always hold very high regards for this place.

Handy to have the shop nearby and the pub. Plenty of parking and the neighbours that share the yard were very friendly. The only problem we had was the double beds, one of which was a bit hard and the other squishy and like trying to sleep on a jelly! Also not a lot of kitchen equipment to cook a Christmas dinner so we bought a few extras. Apart from that we had a lovely holiday in a lovely area.

Thank you for your feedback following your stay in Grange House. I am pleased you thought the property was lovely and that you felt there was plenty of space to park your three vehicles. It is unfortunate, however that you felt that one of the double beds was hard & the other was too soft. I would agree that one bed is harder than the other, however this provides a range of bed types, which have been received positively by previous guests. Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Grange House and found it very comfortable. We are sorry that you were disturbed by vehicle noise. There is a small haulage yard near to Grange House, however it is not located directly next door to the holiday cottage. Any noise from the vehicles is limited to short periods at the start & end of each working day. The haulage firm has operated from this yard for many years and during the time Grange House has been run as a holiday cottage with no complaints from guests. Grange House fronts one of the roads running through the village of Carleton in Craven and therefore guests may hear some vehicle noise.
