The property

The Hayloft is a mews cottage with period features yet modern style, set in an exclusive courtyard.

There's a countryside Inn within walking distance and the cottage is just five miles from historic Carlisle in picturesque Cumbria.

Built from the local sandstone, this two bedroomed cottage is decorated in a boutique style and offers a high standard of accommodation perfect for a family holiday or couples taking a romantic break .

Entering through the cheerful red front door there's a living and dining room with lovely comfortable seating and patio doors out to the courtyard with stylish plantation shutters.

The contemporary country kitchen is fully equipped with views out over the courtyard.

There's also a utility room with washer/dryer and a useful cloakroom with WC.

Upstairs there are two lovely bedrooms with character beams - the master double has a galleried seating area with TV and an en-suite shower room with hand basin and WC, while the second double has use of the family bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin, WC and views out to the fields and open countryside.

Through the French doors there's a shared patio courtyard with garden furniture and there's off road parking for two cars.

The Hayloft is located in Warwick on Eden, with its traditional inn offering excellent food and ales and the Carlisle Golf Course which is open all year round.

The village nestles on the banks of the river Eden that flows through this picturesque part of the world.

You're only nine miles from the Scottish border, in a region steeped in history, yet within easy reach of plenty of family attractions.

Carlisle combines historic sites like the cathedral and the castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned, with excellent shopping, bars and restaurants a theatre and a soft play area.

Enjoy a day at the races or picnic on the beach in the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Hadrian?s Wall, the Roman Fort of Vindolanda and Lanercost Priory are all a stone's throw beyond.

The Hayloft is an excellent base for exploring everything this stunning area of the world has to offer.

The North Lakes including romantic Ullswater are just 30 minutes' drive, while a trip over the scenic Kirkstone Pass takes you into Swallows and Amazons and Beatrix Potter countryside around Lake Windermere with family attractions including the Aquarium of the Lakes and Go Ape.

Carlisle is set in the county of Cumbria, situated just 10 miles south of the Scottish Borders and is nicknamed the Border City. During Roman times the town was established to serve the forts for Hadrian's Wall, which runs east from the city across the country to Wallsend on the east coast and today is recognised as a World Heritage Site. During the Middle Ages, due to its proximity to the Kingdom of Scotland, Carlisle became an important military stronghold and Carlisle Castle, still relatively intact, was built in 1092 by William Rufus, after once serving as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots. The castle now houses the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Border Regiment Museum. In the early 12th century Henry I allowed the foundation of a priory in Carlisle and the town gained the status of a diocese in 1122, resulting in the priory becoming Carlisle Cathedral. The Settle to Carlisle railway runs across some of the most breathtaking scenery to the popular Yorkshire town and Carlisle Racecourse has a packed fixture list including Ladies’ Day and evening fixtures. Within driving distance is the Victorian seaside town of Silloth and just over the border is Gretna Green, where you'll find the Gretna Gateway Shopping Centre and Anvil Hall, the famous wedding venue.
