    “Sack the cleaner!”

Just returned home from this lodge today after spending a week. This is our 2nd stay here, last year was perfect, this year was terrible! The only cleaning that had been done was the bedding changed, as on entering the doors were all faded and dirty, every skirting board was thick with dust and filthy, the grill pan was covered in old dry cheese, there were cobwebs on the living room lights, on plumping up the sofa cushions there was a ledge of pure dog hair, the walls were marked with scuffs ...

Just returned home from this lodge today after spending a week. This is our 2nd stay here, last year was perfect, this year was terrible! The only cleaning that had been done was the bedding changed, as on entering the doors were all faded and dirty, every skirting board was thick with dust and filthy, the grill pan was covered in old dry cheese, there were cobwebs on the living room lights, on plumping up the sofa cushions there was a ledge of pure dog hair, the walls were marked with scuffs and general muck. The cutlery tray was full of crumbs, the lodge sleeps 5 people get a lu provides 4 dishes, the clothes aired provided was all bent and not very sturdy, the windows were filthy both inside and out, there was a dirty cotton bud laid on the bedroom floor, the wood covering was peeling off the side of the fridge and very sharp, 3 of the kitchen bulbs were out, the bin had been emptied but was smeared with mould under the lid ... and this was just for starters! ... our first evening we sat down for our meal the table mats were all stuck together as they had not been washed and were marked with old cup and fish marks, then my mother had an accident injuring her wrist as the dining chair she sat on collapsed, on investigating there was another unstable chair too, the bathroom door handle came off in my hand when trying to close it, then on going to bed the light switch was not secured to the wall properly. The hoover they provided was chocker block full and smelly and basically had no suction. We did comment about the hoover and also a broken side table last year and were told new ones were being bought but a year later they are both still exactly the same!!! Granted we did telephone the owner of the lodge to inform him of Mams accident and the broken chair, he did apologise and arrived the following afternoon with a set of new chairs and also repaired the bathroom door handle. But when this is advertised as a luxury holiday site and the amount of money paid to hire such places you expect it atleast be clean. Did not feel relaxed or enjoy our holiday as a lot of time was so by cleaning and making the place liveable. The site itself was very clean and tidy but lacked dog poop bins, the restaurant was nice but swimming was quite expensive costing 2 of us £17 for only one hour. Abit of a pain having no shop onsite for general necessities too. Would not recommend this lodge at all and would not return. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
