  • "The Lodge was surprisingly large."

It was immaculately clean. Fab TV and surround sound (which we didn't use}. Sofas very comfortable. Large dining table perfect. The bedrooms were adequate in size lots of storage comfortable beds excellent bedding and pillows. Bathrooms /showers were great. Towels lovely. The kitchen was big enough and plenty of storage space. Great having a washer/drier. Veranda was brilliant as we had good weather and was a great chilling area. I must however point out a few things that could easily be addressed. In the kitchen there were plenty of pans but there was only one pyrex dish which was too large for the microwave so really could do with some extra cooking pots. The oven was extremely hard to light so much so we gave up on it and that is where we could have done with dishes for the microwave. When we did get the oven working the grill would only light up on one side. Think the oven just needs PAT testing for safety reasons.. A bedside lamp and mirror in the small bedroom would be an improvement. However all in all we had a lovely comfortable stay and would recommend the Lodge.

  • "Disappointed with the cleaning, spent first 2hours cleaning work surfaces an cupboards."

Moved a bed to find crisp packets and detritus under. Shower heads black and new hose required in onsuite. Glasses stuck to shelf. Work surfaces sticky to touch. Oven filthy. Barbecue used as ashtray and not been cleaned (didn’t use). TP toothpick down side of bed. Had to put everything through dishwasher. Outside furniture in need of some tender care, well weathered and no cushions for them. Weeds growing through decking. Some furniture in living room well worn. Access panel in twin bedroom fell off in night, lucky bed not in use. No welcome pack (tea, coffee milk) Entertainment system good, beds comfy. PAT test missing on some electrical items Facilities on site hit and miss. Swimming very expensive (£10 per adult per day), as is restaurant (£30 for 2 chicken Bergers chips extra). No childrens play area. Luckily had great weather so we’re out most of day. Used Pine lake (next door) for food and play area. (Good resort) Overall very disappointing.

  • "Our stay at 16 Sherwood was perfect for us to spend time as a family."

The lodge is immaculately clean spacious and comfortable and being privately owned had all the little touches you appreciate a real home from home and the Christmas Tree was an added bonus. Would I recommend it most definitely

  • "Just had a lovely stay over Christmas."

4 adults and 2 children under 16. We have stayed at South Lakeland quite a few times but this lodge has been the best so far. David the owner met us in the car park and showed us to the property, he was lovely and helpful and had left us tea, coffee, milk and sugar. The lodge was immaculately clean and for the first time in all the years of visiting the site we had uninterrupted WiFi so we had two very happy grandchildren. I would recommend this lodge (the photos don't do it justice) and will definitely be booking again.

  • "Had a fabulous holiday in a well equiped lodge."

Could have done with more manuals on show as to how to work machines, these were eventually found in several drawers .Only setback was the WiFi ,we had 2 grandchildren with us who, because of the bad weather, tried to make use of the Smart TV and their phones --reception was hit and miss.

  • "In August we stayed in 17 Sherwood Lodge and it was a fantastic place."

Within driving distance to the beach, Lake district and Yorkshire dales. All the facilities in the lodge are of a very good standard but the master bedroom ensuite shower didn't work as the cold water side was faulty. We raised this issue and the owner came down to the lodge and sorted this out. We thought that was very professional . We had a great week at this lodge and would recommend this to anyone. • "I did mention about the smell in the kitchen to the cleaner on leaving, we were not made aware of the builders that we building next to us, would of been curtious to let us know."

There is nothing for the kids to do, could do with a play area and was not impressed to see dogs off leads even though they are supposed to be on at all times. Lodge was clean and comfy

  • "We are just home from this lodge and we had a great holiday."

The only problem was that the lodge was not that clean. I had to put all the dishes and cutlery in the dishwasher before using them. I also washed the towels as they had a foosty smell off them. I could have contacted the cleaner but thought it was easier just to do it myself then I knew it was done properly. There was also an unpleasant smell around the fridge, but we couldn't find anything. Overall we had a great holiday and will definitely be back to this site.

  • "We booked this very last minute (day or arrival) due to our booked cottage javing broken heating and the owner went out his way to ensure it was ready for us very late on Saturday afternoon."

The lodge was very clean and welcoming, with spotless rooms and very well equipped kitchen. The lodge had everything we needed, with Wifi and even Netflix. We paddleboard and we were able to use the lake to paddle on at no extra cost, which was great as we didnt even have to travel to go on the lakes. The park also had a swimming pool, small pub style restaurant which was open for some of our stay with lovely food, when it was closed they provided take away food too. Such a lovely stay we would highly recommend. Thank you.

The lodge is fantastic, all facilities in the lodge are of a very good standard, there is no WiFi so the smart tv is a waste The swimming pool on site and the gym are excellent The restaurant and on site bar are of a very good standard, the food provided is excellent and prices are very reasonable We had a great week at this lodge and would recommend this Matt

  • "The cottage is great and was what we had expected."

It was frustrating however that the wifi didn't work. I was warned several weeks before that it wasn't working, but assumed a solution would be provided (such as a temporary wifi unit) if it hadn't been fixed when we ultimately went. Subsequently, the Smart TV didn't work as a smart TV as it relies on wifi and the very low phone signal in the are meant finding any internet service nigh on impossible. I really don't like complaining as the cottage is superb and the location also, but this felt like something that could have been easily remedied given the amount of warning provided! Otherwise, I fully recommend this cottage.

There were a new fridge and hob and plenty of hot water. The agent and owner were quick to reply to a query about how to use the washer/ dryer.I hadn't closed the door firmly enough! They even texted back to ensure it was working.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that the BBQ had not been cleaned, this has now been removed from the property. Although we found the hob to be working fine we bought a replacement hob for easier usage. Kind regards Property Owner
