  • "After reading other people's feedback on this property, I was a little anxious about how I would find it."

I shouldn't have worried. We were a family with grandkids, and over the years have done many self catering holidays in caravans or lodges. We fully expected to strip the beds, and take washing up liquid, t-towels etc. It was a bonus having 2 towels each bed. The lodge was clean and tidy, the settees were well used but still comfortable, and I didn't think they were dirty. The kitchen had everything we needed and the en-suite shower in the main bedroom was absolutely fine! I managed to shave my legs etc with no probelms as the tray never overflowed?! The maintenance man came to check the hot tub every 2 days, and we reported the umbrella/parasol not working but it was no inconvenience to us. It is a lovely site, and this property is on the end of the lake, with a grassy area next to it, that the kids played on. We walked the park and it was clean and tidy. The service at the Inn was slow, but it was mid-covied pinging time. We watched the wild life, and baby ducks from our deck, and it is worth mentioning that you can hear the motorway vehicles during the day on one side, and a trainline on the other - however we didn't find it too intrusive and it was quiet enough to sleep well. Great base to explore Morecombe, the Lakes and some very good pubs with food locally. We discovered Wainwrights Beer is very nice! Would I recommend it? Yes, Would I go back again? Yes. Hope this helps people x

  • "Lodge dirty."

Dirty matress when we stripped it prior to leaving. Urine stained duvet. 2 dirty rusty pans in cupboard, they were greasy. Pubic hairs in bathroom. Only 2 pans,we had to go and buy some. No information about lodge or facilities on site. No smart TV although advertised as there was one.

  • "Where do we start with this one."

Firstly, the advertisement lists the lodge as 5 stars. For 5 stars I would expect as advertised "Elements of luxury." We booked a weeks stay here with family members for a 30th Birthday. On the evening we arrived the hot tub would not work and had an error message. Not a good start, but to be fair the resort fixed it quickly the next day. Upon arriving at the property the lodge smelt musty, the sofas which were caving in on themselves from so much use had no padding on at all. The smell was also from these. They really could have done with replacing or an upholstery clean. The facilities were poor for a 5 star lodge. The grill did not work in the oven. The extractor on the cooker did not work. The drains were blocked in the master bedroom so having a shower was a race not to spill water onto the floor. No tea towels are provided. No cleaning equipment or even washing up liquid. 3 dish washer tablets and 2 rolls of toilet paper were given for the whole week. No simple things like coasters or mats for the coffee tables. The outside decking is tired and worn and requires a clean and paint. With plastic falling out from the ripped hot tub lid that also needs replacing. One morning we woke up to no gas or hot water, the gas tank had run out and I had to boil the kettle for the bath. Gas bottles should have been checked regularly to ensure that did not happen to paying guests. We left the holiday early and were very disappointed. It doesn't take much to add attention to detail but this is definitely not a 5 star lodge. We won't be returning.
