  • "Inside the property was clean, but the outside needs a good clean."

The windows were dirty and the lodge was covered in cobwebs and looking shabby against other nearby lodges. Some of the kitchen equipment needs replacing, chipped/cracked crockery and mismatched cutlery etc.

  • "The en-suite shower waste water was very slow to drain away, toilet seats were loose and need fixing, three of the cereal bowls were cracked or chipped, no scissors!"

Apart from the shower maybe petty things but would make a difference. As an observation the front of the lodge could do with washing down. But overall very comfortable stay and would be happy to recommend!

  • "Property in need of maintenance and a thorough clean."

A very dirty, dusty and unhygienic place. Don’t think it had been cleaned for a very long time.

  • "The dishwasher didn't work it is old and needs replacing."

No cafetiere but 2 hairdryers? No second shower which was a problem with 6 adults. Only 5 sofa seats for 6 people.

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay at Mulberry Lodge but I must be very critical regarding the lack of information reference the location of the lodge."

I went to the site reception and they do not recognise the lodge description of Mulberry. I had to ring Sykes for advice, the advice I received was very unclear. I was told to go through the barrier (which barrier there are several) and it is the sixth or seventh on the left. After touring the site for 40 minutes we eventually found the Lodge. I would suggest you post on your description the address ie Mulberry Lodge, 33 Lakeside. the reception personnel can then give you a map and direct you to your cabin.

  • "We have made several complaints and have been offered a 100."

00 compensation refund which we still have not received. Contact has been rubbish, you don't get back to us, its been going on for weeks now.

  • "Nice quiet site."

Lodge is a good size. Clean, well equipped, although could do with a tin opener for those tins without a pull top. Nice outdoor settee but table and chairs need updating. Bedrooms nice, beds comfy. The shower in the ensuite is great. Some confusion on arrival- need more detailed instructions. Went to main office, Mulberry, the name of the lodge, isn't enough to locate where the actual lodge is, there are over 400 and for the office you need to know the number and area(street name) it took us 40 mins altogether to get through to sykes and for them to contact the owner then call us back. Also you need to leave your car in the reception carpark area go collect the key from the lodge to be able to use the fob to get through the barrier to drive onto the site. Maybe not a big thing but very frustrating when you've reached your destination and then have to spend time ringing back and forth to be able to actually get in.
