We had a family stay over the new year, the cabin was great on all levels, spacious, very clean, nice and warm , great views over the lake, the beds where very comfortable, which is a must for me, supermarkets were only a few minutes away, I would highly recommended this cabin, marks out of 10 would be 10

  • "The view is absolutely breathtaking."

The lodge has everything you need for a family to enjoy a nice holiday. The only thing that I noticed is the big spiders on the ceilings and the big bathroom not as clean on the floor. Also we had some meals at the restaurant and the meat is honestly “alive”. I don’t recommend the restaurant. Overall we had a good experience.

We're so glad you had a lovely holiday. Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately being surrounded by trees we do get the odd spider that loves to come indoors as the weather gets colder - we're not too keen on them either! We can reassure you all the hard floors in the lodge do get steam cleaned between each set of guests. We will also pass on your comments about your experience in the restaurant to the restaurant manager and to the holiday park team. Thank you again. Property Owner

  • "On suite bathroom in main bedroom had a horrible sewage smell when you flushed the toilet."

Thank you for leaving such a high score 94/100 including 100% for cleanliness. As you are aware we visited the lodge daily during your stay to perform the necessary hot tub checks and are surprised you didn't mention this smell to us at the time when you saw us. We would have had this investigated immediately. Following your departure there was no evidence of any inappropriate smell in either bathroom, and nothing has been reported by any other guests since. • "We had a lovely relaxing holiday, 7 of us ranging from nearly 2 - 91."

The lodge is situated on the lake, couldn’t have been in a better place. It was spacious, and very well equipped. The hot tub was a hit with all of us especially my husband who suffers with his back. We were very lucky with the weather so used the outdoor space all week. The only negative is that the swimming pool wasn’t warm enough for the children and cost £20 for 2 Adults and 2 children, I appreciate there’s nothing the owners can do about that. We’ll definitely be back.

  • "Wonderful property, in a very picturesque setting."

Lots of wildlife on the lake, very peaceful and quiet. A perfect place to relax and recuperate, or as a base for exploring the local area. The hot tub is a nice bonus, and the water was checked daily by the owner. I would definitely recommend, and would happily return in the future.

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback we really appreciate it - we’re always delighted when folk feel they can switch off for a well deserved rest! We hope to see you again in the future. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "The lodge is gorgeous and in a prime spot for the sun all day long."

We were greeted with a lovely welcome pack of tea, scones, jam, butter, Sal, pepper, coffee pods and proseccco. With a personalised welcome card from the owners. The hot tub was oh checked daily, whether we used it or not. The kitchen was fully fitted with almost everything you needed (we missed a pair of tongs for when we used the grill, but that’s just us). The double bed however was a bit uncomfortable, the headboard squeaked like mad when turning over, the mattress was a bit hard and the pillows need replacing ( they were flat and hard). Outside we had a big bbq with gas provided, which we enjoyed most days. But the decking is very warm and untreated, to the point it is falling apart. All that said, we didn’t let it spoil our week’s stay

Thank you for your constructive feedback - so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for letting us know you found the bed a bit uncomfortable despite the addition of the new memory foam mattress topper - we will now replace the mattress. We do wish you had let us know during your stay that the pillows were not to your taste as we have a range of pillows available. Likewise with the squeaky headboard we would have happily dealt with this for you during your stay. Please be reassured that the decking is structurally sound and regularly treated as part of the ongoing maintenance plan carried out during the warmer months, whilst always minimising disruption to all our guests. • "Samhchair lodge was lovely."

Had everything we could possibly need. Very modern. Stylish. Beds and bedding are hotel standard. We really had an amazing break. Only thing we didn’t know was the owner calls daily to check hot tub. Would be good to put on the details. And I know it’s the leisure parks rule but finding the lodges for the key in the dark could be a nuisance. Would highly recommend Samhchair lodge to stay at.

  • "A lovely property in a very lovely setting."

There was plenty of crockery etc and lots of space, everything you need really. It is a very nice site in a convenient area for the coast and the Lakes. The only downside was the leather sofas which were cold without throws and cushions. I know it was all to do with the COVID nonsense rules. It wouldn’t be a problem in the Summer.

  • "Really good lodge in prime position on lake."

Comfortable beds. Good wifi and tv. Many unlabelled switches, warned by other review, we returned every switch which didn't produce results to its original position, which worked for us!. Electric fire on/off switch hidden beneath top of fire recess, then controlled by cigarette-lighter sized control. This kept us warm when..... heating and hot water failed overnight on Wednesday, out-of-date Sykes phone number in lodge literature for if we needed help was no good, fortunately we had other numbers and Sykes quickly contacted pleasant owner, who rang us, identified the fault code and two plumbers arrived within a couple of hours to fix it (low pressure). We were quite impressed. We would like to see another coffee table so both settee dwellers had somewhere to put cups, phones, books and specs. There were lots of pint glasses and huge wine ones too, but not many smaller ones for the odd G & T, Bacardi and coke or Bailey's etc. This is something we have found at many holiday rentals, they don't have to match so long as they are there! Hot tub and deck furniture excellent, fully recommended.

All in all a brilliant holiday home, sitting in the jacuzzi or on our own pier watching the sun set over the lake is a memory that will last a lifetime.

The accommodation was beautiful and had everything we needed. Lovely welcome pack for our arrival, bath and hot tub towels provided, lots of plastic plates, glasses etc for using out on the wrap around outside, and sounds daft but appreciated that it wasn't just 6 spoons, forks etc and that the owner had actually made it like a home from home with extras of so many things. We had to contact the owner once or twice re v minor things and she responded quickly and efficiently. All in all, it was a fabulous wk away and would def rebook this lodge.
