  • “We read a few reviews complaining about the state of the lodge on arrival, but we had no major complaints.”

The kitchen area especially around the cooker was a bit greasy and needed a thorough clean maybe, and a few of easily removed cobwebs in the two chandeliers, maybe a quiet word with the cleaning company required by the owners. Otherwise the lodge is very pleasant, well equipped. The smart TV was welcomed, and the Internet (around 5Mb) sufficient to watch the built in Netflix and iPlayer, YouTube etc. As previously reported, we had a little trouble with the main shower suddenly running cold ...

As previously reported, we had a little trouble with the main shower suddenly running cold but it wasn't a major issue and I think someone else was using a tap at the time. For fishermen, there is access to, borwick lakes across the road, £6/rod per, day, and a number of larger fisheries close by booked in advance. Nicely located on the A6 with good links to Kendal and the lake district, Lancaster and Morecambe. Lancaster well worth a visit. Aldi and Tesco a couple of minutes down the road, and a wide range of pubs and restaurants in the area to choose from. The on site restaurant and bar next to the lake at South Village Leisure Park is also good value and a relaxing alternative to driving off site. Would we go back? We would certainly consider it.
