Good location. Great wifi and TV. Parking voucher was helpful. Four person was confortable, but six might be a sqeeze.

About the property

Enjoying a lovely position in the pretty and historic village of Cartmel is this double-fronted mid-terrace cottage, Walden.

Every bit as picture-perfect from the outside as it is from the inside, Walden boasts beautiful decoration and style throughout, whilst enjoying an outside area overlooking Cartmel's famous 12th century Priory and fields.

Enter into the cottage and first notice the rustic timber frames in the walls, showing the age of the property, before heading into the fabulous living/dining room where comfortable seating awaits you after an energetic ramble.

Relax with the woodburning stove lit, keeping your family and friends warm in the cooler months while you enjoy the Smart TV, or sit in the sophisticated cocktail area in here, the perfect spot to toast to your break to the Lakes.

Discover the beautiful kitchen/diner too, equipped with all you need for cooking up delicious meals, with shaker style units, a harmonious colour scheme and views out to the Priory, you'll certainly enjoy using this space whilst tucking into tasty meals.

Settle on the large armchair in the snug area by the patio doors, a lovely spot for enjoying some peace and reading a good book, while the delightful garden is great for alfresco dining and soaking up the afternoon sun, along with admiring the delightful village and Priory views.

Ideal for a group of friends, a family (comfortably accommodating up to six) or two couples, Walden is home to four bedrooms, two of which are single bedrooms, so all can enjoy their own tranquil space.

Discover a ground-floor single bedroom and a ground-floor shower room to serve it, whilst upstairs will bring you to another single bedroom and two double rooms, all beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with plenty of storage.

Completing the layout is the shower room on the first floor where you can feel refreshed in the large shower enclosure.

Delight in getting to know the beautiful village of Cartmel by visiting the local, traditional pubs around the main square, as well as Cartmel Village Shop which is famous for its sticky toffee pudding.

If you want to dine out with a difference, head to the Michelin starred restaurant L'Enclume created by chef Simon Rogan which is perfectly positioned along the riverside.

Spend a day exploring the 200-acre grounds of Holker Hall & Gardens and take a tour of the large Cumbrian hall, with woodland to venture into and a deer park for spotting some wildlife.

Grange-over-Sands is perfect for those wanting some fresh sea air with the town resting on the shores of Morecambe Bay; you can delight in a stroll along the promenade before heading into the Ornamental Gardens, while warm sunny days can be enjoyed with a splash in the Grange-over-Sands Lido.

Walkers can expect to find endless variety when it comes to walking routes, with peaks like Whitbarrow and Gummer's How being in the southern region of the Lakes and a short car journey away, while further afield is Grizedale Forest, home to Go Ape Grizedale and near to Hill Top, the National Trust property formerly owned by Beatrix Potter.

Don't miss the chance to enjoy all the popular Lake District attractions; hop on a Windermere Cruise at Lakeside after visiting the amazing Lakes Aquarium and stop off at Bowness-on-Windermere to see The World of Beatrix Potter Experience, before carrying on up to Ambleside and taking a stroll to Stock Ghyll Force.

A world of adventure awaits from Walden in the charming village of Cartmel.
