"What an absolute gem I found when booking Knott Lodge."
It is everything and more you could ever want for a stay away from home I had chosen to stay here as my husband is an amputee and the cottage had a wet room and was all on one level so was just perfect When we arrived we were met by the owner Lily who is a very friendly and charming lady. When she showed us into the cottage it was bigger than I had thought from seeing the photos with everything you could possibly want. A well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofa and chairs with a view over the hills you could just look at all day! The bedroom had a very comfortable super king size bed with plenty of storage for clothes. The wet room has a glorious shower with plentiful hot water and underfloor heating which was superb in drying the floor quickly This is an ideal location for exploring the Lake District as well as relaxing and just enjoying the surroundings that Lily and her husband Alan provides And added bonus of having their sheepdogs to pet
"The holiday cottage was wonderful and of the highest quality and perfect for a wheelchair user."
The location was also perfect and the owners were very welcoming and very friendly, they took the time to talk to us and made sure our comfort was assured, I would and do recommend this for anyone, thank you Lily and Alan
"A most enjoyable holiday, my hosts Alan & Lily were really lovely people."
I would highly recommend, outstanding.
"This was a beautiful spot hosted by such lovely people."
The views amazing, it was such a peaceful relaxing place. We had the privilege of watching the farm at work watching the lovely border collies round the sheep and Alan feeding the lambs. We would definitely return and thank you so much to Lily & Alan for being such wonderful hosts.
"Knots Lodge is a long very barn conversion in a beautiful setting with stunning views."
We chose this cottage as my husband has limited mobility. All areas were wheelchair accessible and the wet room was fully equipped. The cottage is comfortable and has everything you need for two people. The large windows in the lounge allow you to enjoy tye beautiful view, and on the nice days there is a large terrace where you can sit and enjoy the surrounding area. The hosts Lily and Alan are amazing people and nothing is too much trouble for them. This is a lovely cottage for both able and disabled people to enjoy peace and tranquility. There are also lots of lovely places to visit not too far away. We hope to return next year.

It's been planned in such a way that everything worked albeit from a wheelchair. The hosts are lovely people who really care and made our holiday a success. The views and location are to be seen to be believed. Finally the accommodation is spacious, clean with fantastic views.
"This cottage was absolutely beautiful with amazing views but more importantly to us, it is very disability friendly."
The host was extremely helpful and pleasant. The area is stunning with many placed to visit within easy reach. Would def recommend and revisit.
"Due to the inclement weather we were not able to get out and about most days, but it was not a problem as we were quite comfortable."
"On arrival we were presented with a cottage which went beyond our expectations of size and facilities for both abled and disabled guests."
The open plan throughout with a doorway to a large wet room is an ideal situation, the kitchen, dining and sitting areas are ideal for two people with plenty of room to spare. The cottage is situated at the top of a lane from the main road and has a view of the hills which you will not forget. Hosts Lily and Alan are great hosts and are at hand if required. The cottage is heated by underfloor heating throughout but was not required during our stay everything was in perfect order for our stay and once you visit you will want to return for a very relaxing break. Knott View and Brant View and Knott Lodge boast outstanding views of the valley and dramatic Howgill Fells and have been lovingly restored to provide spacious, comfortable accommodation. Each property offers lovely bedrooms and a patio area with furniture, ideal for sitting out and relaxing especially during the month of July when the owners’ hay meadows are awash with rare and protected flowers, a spectacle to behold! With the Farfield Mill Arts and Heritage Centre and the towns of Hawes and Dent all within easy reach, these lovely properties make an ideal base in which to relax and unwind and from which to tour both the Lakes and Dales at any time of the year.
About the location
Kendal 12 miles; Hawes 15 miles.
Sedbergh (pronounced Sed-Ber), set at the foot of the dramatic and wild Howgill Fells, is an ancient market town in northern Dentdale. Sedbergh is situated just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is only 12 miles from the Lake District National Park. The town, with its narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs, famous school dating back to 1525 and its 12th century church, has an olde worlde atmosphere. Leading from Sedbergh is Dentdale, the jewel of the Yorkshire Dales with its rolling hills and dry stone walls, stretching 14 miles from the windswept moors below Whernside to the confluence of the Rivers Dee and Rawthey. At the centre of the dale is Dent, with its cobbled streets, which has existed since Norman times and nearby Dent railway station is on the renowned Settle-Carlisle railway line. There are three golf courses nearby, as well as tennis, riding, and fishing, and the area is a paradise for walkers, ramblers, runners and cyclists. This, together with the tranquillity of the surrounding valleys, the two National Parks and it being England's book town, makes an ideal year-round holiday destination.
