We've stayed with two other holiday firms in the Lakes and on both occasions found a good deal more information about local walks, etc including detailed maps and descriptions at both properties. Bank Cottage unfortunately was badly lacking on this score, apart from a small book about pub walks in the Lakes generally. It would be helpful to future visitors if you had more leaflets/advice/recommendations about walks in the immediate area - some of which can be done right from the front door. 2. We could not fault the interior of the cottage in terms of cleanliness and comfort but the exterior looked rather tatty and would benefit from a little TLC and basic maintenance - eg repainting the bench and weeding under the front window. There was also plaster peeling off in the lounge on the wall by the stairs which needs to be urgently addressed and re-decorated. Apart from the above - and perhaps the lack of a pint of fresh milk in the fridge on arrival - we enjoyed ourselves at the property and would happily return. John & Jackie Coles
