Lavender Cottage, 8 Ainspool Lane is a mid-terrace property bulit in the 1600’s which resides in the charming historic village of Churchtown, close to the ancient market town of Garstang in Lancashire.

Within easy reach of the Forest of Bowland, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Lake District, rural Churchtown lies between the cities of Preston, Lancaster and Blackpool.

Venture inside the property and feel the heat emanating from the toasty warm woodburning stove in the living/dining room before settling down to restful tranquillity or a cosy time in front of the TV.

Pass by the original beams to the kitchen, a space enjoying solid wood fittings, where a wealth of appliances can be found to whip up a delectable meal.

Enjoy a day exploring Brock Bottoms Picnic Site, Beacon Fell and the Rosemary Bullivant Memorial Forest, Nicky Nook at nearby Scorton, or the Forest of Bowland which are all easily reached.

Head to Garstang, where you can embark on a lovely stroll along the Milennium way by the river or along the Lancaster Canal which runs through the town and beyond.

Finish the day off with a drink at the Th’Owd Tithe Barn by the canal or at one of the many local pubs and bars.

Wander further north to Lancaster for a fantastic outing, with Lancaster Castle, Williamson Park with its butterfly house and the Judges Lodgings Museum being points of interest; the city also backs onto Morcambe, where the coastal delight of Morecambe Bay can be discovered.

Spend some time along the Fylde Coast and visit the towns of Lytham St Annes, Blackpool, Cleveleys and Fleetwood, or wander towards Cumbria where the vast Lake District National Park awaits.
