All new and spotless throughout. Ideal for a couple (+ child) exploring Western Lakes. Only things to note are no table, but breakfast bar, and on top floor. Nice to have view over fields. Very easy and comfortable. Parking straight outside door.

  • "Fantastic apartment with easy access to the East Lakes and Cumbrian coastal walks."

Very comfortable modern presentation, more like a luxury hotel than a holiday cottage. Highly recommended.

  • "Alan was there to great us and was so friendly and accommodating."

The flat was superb- newly renovated and very tastefully done. The property was just off the main road but it was such a peaceful and quiet area. Excellent value for money and we will certainly recommend to others and will return ourselves with no doubt.

Everything you needed was there, every item seemed brand new. Owners was more than helpful and gave us advice on best places to visit. Thoroughly loved being there and intent to revisit very soon.

  • "Just back from a fantastic break at this accommodation."

Highly recommended great base for anyone wanting to explore the Western Lakes. The accommodation itself was first class, fully modernised could not fault a thing and Alan and Jill were great hosts, on hand with any questions and recommendations.

  • "Great accommodation, and very convenient for the western Lakes, especially Ennerdale, which is in within five miles of the property, as is the Cumbria coast at St Bees."

The Coast-to-Coast long-distance path also passes within about a mile of the property. The flat has been recently refurbished to a high standard, and everything worked well and was as clean as you could wish for. The shower was exceptionally good. Broadband was fine throughout my stay (about 22MB download). The village of Cleator Moor has seen more prosperous days, but everyone I met was friendly and welcoming. The property owners live in the adjacent bungalow, and were most prompt and helpful in attending to any questions, etc. There was ample parking right outside. I had a great holiday, and would be keen to return. Highly recommended.

  • "Absolutely first class accommodation."

Very clean and appeared brand new. The hosts, Alan and Jill, were very welcoming along with Granny..They gave us excellent advice about the local area and were not intrusive in any way. We had a wonderful week and would highly recommend this cottage to your clients. The only small criticism was that the WiFi was difficult to get unless we went down to the second floor. Their daughter advised us that she would contact BT for advice to solve the problem. I could not recommend the apartment to anyone with mobility problems, however, because the apartment is on the top floor up several flights of stairs. It was a wonderful week nonetheless.

  • "Lovely personal greeting from the host Alan to check everything was ok, the flat looked and felt brand new."

Everything was spotless and perfect for our needs. The hosts really have thought of everything, the bed was super comfortable and it really was a home from home. We were there for a walking weekend and it was the perfect spot for this, there is always plenty of parking outside the flat to. With regard's to cleanliness, the flat was spotless. There was every utensil you would want, and the waterfall shower was just what we needed after a long day of walking. The hosts went over and above to make our few days with them perfect, thank you and we most definitely would return.

The accommodation was clean, felt safe and perfect for couples. The host was lovely, very welcoming and very informative. The area is quiet and not too far from Keswick. The coast is only 15 minutes away and there's plenty of lovely places to visit near Cleator. I would highly recommend anyone to book their stay here. We will definitely be coming back

  • "This is a surprising gem next to some of the Lake Districts best lakes and valleys."

Just three or four miles from Ennerdale and easy to get to Wastwater, Eskdale and Loweswater. Ennerdale Bridge three miles away is probably my favourite Lake District village with an excellent cafe. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well furnished in an unusual building on the edge of the town with views of open countryside from all the windows. Best shower I've had in my many Sykes properties. Cleator Moor is like many of the West Coast towns looking a bit down but the wonderful countryside more than makes up.

About the location

The West Cumbrian town of Whitehaven is situated on the coast between the sparkling sea and the Lakeland Fells. It was one of the first ‘planned’ towns in England and today can boast almost 250 Listed Georgian buildings and some beautiful parks and gardens. Today the town’s harbour is a designated conservation area and visitors can learn about the town’s history at the excellent Beacon Heritage Centre. The surrounding coastline has much to offer, not least its old smugglers villages, such as Ravenglass, and the red sandstone cliffs of pretty St Bees - now the start of Wainwright’s famous “Coast to Coast” Walk. Meanwhile inland you can enjoy the tranquillity of the Western lakes: Ennerdale, Loweswater, Crummock, Buttermere and Wastwater. Ennerdale is perhaps the most peaceful of all the lakes, with no public roads running along its National Trust owned shoreline.
