  • "Lovely cosy cottage, had all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay."

Really enjoyed our evenings by the fire after exploring surrounding areas. Also, this is the best cottage I have visited in terms of welcoming dogs. Towels, bowls, treats, bed, no restrictions other than to keep shedding under control by cleaning. Will recommend to all my friends and family looking for dog friendly holidays.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. It sounds like you had a great time and made the most of your visit. We hope to welcome you (and of course your dogs) back soon. Property Owner

  • "We had a fabulous time at Rock Cottage celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday during our stay!"

The idyllic cottage is in a lovely quiet village and is very private. The owners were very helpful and quick to reply to any queries we had. The kitchen is well equipped providing all the cooking utensils we required during our stay. We ate at a local pub the Cross Keys twice which I would thoroughly recommend. The drive to Ullswater, Derwent Water and Bowness on Windermere was beautiful even if a bit icy! The hot tub was amazing even though it was -7 degrees! As a family ranging in age from 1 to 60 we had great fun and I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Rock Cottage

Thank you for your lovely comments, it sounds like you had a wonderful celebration. We do hope you’ll come and stay again. Happy 60th to your husband Property Owner

  • "Enjoyed everything about the cottage, a real cosy place."

A couple of things could do with a small upgrade but that’s to be expected in an old cottage and adds to the character. Owners very helpful for any needs that we had.

Thank you for your feedback. We are always looking at any improvements we can make and were happy to help. We also love the cosy character and are glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Loved the cottage, It was everything we wanted."

In the dark it was a bit hard to find as the front of the house is away from the road so might be handy to add to the directions. The owners were great and responded quickly when we made any contact. Overall would visit again

Thank you. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay with us and note your comments about finding the cottage in the dark. We’ve asked Sykes to include the what three words location in their arrival email to help guests narrow down the location. Property Owner

  • "A beautifully furnished, cosy cottage property."

The cottage kitchen was well equipped with everything our group needed for a self-catering mini-break. The property is centrally heated throughout. As ours was an autumnal visit it was great to be able to light a log fire in the evening to add to the overall ambience! Great location, with easy access to, amongst other places, Penrith, Lowther Castle and The Lake District by car. Highly recommend.

Thank you for your comments, it sounds like you enjoyed the cottage and the local area. We hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "Lovely period property with a rustic feel."

Travelled with 3 little ones under 3 and 2 German Shepherds but still had plenty of space. Garden was perfect for the dogs and the horses in the field at the end made the toddlers stay. The hot tub was a welcome addition to relax at the end of a tiring day. Would love to return hopefully with some better weather

Thank you for staying with us and for your kind comments. Our own German Shepherd also loves the big garden and her horse friends! Fingers crossed that you’ll be back when the sun is shining. Property Owner

  • "Lovely Cottage, thank you for everything we had a wonderful time and would def recommend!"

The only thing I would mention for slight improvement was that could have left more toiletries i.e toilet roll in relation to number of guests staying as we were max capacity guests and we ran out just before we left but other than that all was great & would come again, thank you :)

Thank you for your feedback, we’re glad you enjoyed your stay. Rock Cottage is a self catering cottage and provides some complimentary toiletries for guests. We look forward to welcoming you again. Property Owner

  • "Rock Cottage was spotlessly clean, everything was fresh and pristine."

We were a group of 4 adults and 4 children. It was perfect for our needs. Nice big living room and plenty of space outside. High chair, stair gate and cot were all ready set up for us on arrival. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your comments. We are very proud of our cottage and glad it was perfect for you. Hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "Loved the house, garden, tub."

Felt very relaxed. Exceptionally maintained. Only slightly frustrated all cutlery and crockery not located in kitchen. Many thanks. Will certainly return and recommend.

Thank you for your comments. We decided to store the cutlery and crockery in the dining area ready for setting the table but understand that the kitchen is equally suitable. We’re glad you had a relaxing stay and hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

20-30 mins to Keswick which was close enough to travel and it’s just off the M6.
