  • "We really enjoyed our stay at The Garden House in Giggleswick."

The location is superb! Set in the midst of beautiful countryside whichever way you go from it. Away from the hustle and bustle of city life but close enough to all amenities where needed. The house was equipped with everything we needed and it was very peaceful and comfortable. The owner was also helpful and friendly when we made an enquiry. Definitely a standout place to stay!

  • "The Garden House was a lovely place to stay."

It had everything we needed for an enjoyable week. The cottage was in a quiet cul-de-sac with no traffic noise at night. Two parking spaces right outside off road were ideal. The garden was beautiful with the roses well cared for. Relaxing in the summerhouse of an evening was a bonus. Just one polite suggestion. Two of the bedrooms only have horizontal blinds, the light shone in very early in the morning . Curtains would help. Other than that comment we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Giggleswick. We would have no hesitation in booking this cottage in the future. One of the nicest we have stayed in. Also Eileen was a great host.

  • "To sit in the beautiful garden was a delight - especially with a book and sunshine!"

It was also lovely to have plenty of mugs to use and feed to the dishwasher and I enjoyed reading the books about the local area. In addition, the decor was tasteful and pretty. Two small points are that it would have been lovely to have had another comfy seat in the sitting room and maybe a key to the gate opposite to get onto the field quicker - but instead we got more "steps" in walking round to such!

  • "A well located and extremely comfortable house."

Settle is within easy walking distance, but Giggleswick has its own charm as a separate village. The house is on the edge of the village with walks from the door. It has a generous sized lounge and a dining area that can seat 6. The bedrooms are a good size. Above all - it is quiet!

The property

The Garden House is a comfortable, peaceful holiday home in the heart of the village of Giggleswick.

The cottage is a short walk from two village pubs and the small market town of Settle.

Settle provides amenities from pubs and cafes to supermarkets and shops.

There is also a thriving theatre with events every week and, of course, Settle Station has regular trains to north on the World famous Settle to Carlisle Railway.

Conveniently positioned near local amenities and enveloped by a wealth of natural hotspots, the cottage is ideal for a trip away with friends, sleeping up to four guests.

The cottage is ideally located to walk and explore the Three Peaks, Malham Cove and the Yorkshire Dales.

It is also less than an hours drive from The Lake District National Park.

On approach to the stone-fronted property, be welcomed by off-road parking for two cars, followed by a cottage-style wrap-around garden, complete with colourful beds of flowers, bistro furniture and a charming summerhouse; the perfect setting for a morning coffee or an evening catch up.

Entering the kitchen/diner, well-stocked for a self-catering break, plan the days ahead from the contemporary dining table, or gather around for a home cooked meal.

Venturing through to the stylish sitting room, feel at home as you relax on the sofa, flick on the TV, and curl up in front of the electric fire, before heading beyond the cloakroom and up the stairs for the night.

Retreat to spacious and inviting bedrooms, including a king size with plenty of storage,a double with its own en-suite shower room and a small double, and a bathroom to accommodate your party.

A short stroll from the property will bring you to an array of amenities, owned by many locals, offering a true portrait of Settle and its welcoming community; head towards the centre to reach several restaurants, pubs, and the weekly Tuesday market, trading local produce, arts, and crafts.

Encompassed by nature, spend your days at the stunning Scaleber Force Waterfall, immerse yourself within Victoria Cave and its 1837 heritage, or explore the hills of Warrendale Knots.

For avid walkers, there are several different favoured routes, leading you to the beautiful woodlands and lakes of Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail, and Janet's Foss.

The village of Giggleswick has a 9 - hole golf course that welcomes guest players.

With tourism at the core of the village, enrich your knowledge of the area by strolling around Skipton Castle, by visiting the tourist attraction of Springs Canal Skipton or by discovering Malham Cove, formed over 12,000 years ago.

Acting as a home-away-from-home, stay at The Garden House in North Yorkshire.

About the location

GIGGLESWICK

  • Settle 0.8 mile
  • Malham 7.3 miles
  • Skipton 16.2 miles

This delightful Ribblesdale village lies below a limestone scar (part of the Craven fault) and just across the river from the bustling market town of Settle. It’s an incredibly pretty place with sturdy houses and cottages, many dating back to the 17th century as the ‘date stones’ over their doorways will confirm. Today the village is still centred around the beautiful St Alkelda’s church, which dates back to the 12th century and the well-known landmark of the domed chapel at the famous Giggleswick School, which dominates the village skyline. Giggleswick itself has two pubs, whilst the wide ranging amenities of the nearby market town of Settle are within easy walking distance. Further afield is the town of Ingleton with its splendid waterfall walk and of course (for the serious walker) the Three Peaks are nearby.
