  • "Very cosy and comfortable cottage in fabulous location with wonderful views and walks on the doorstep."

Being on a working farm with the owner next door was a bonus for us - and the eggs, butter, milk, tea etc provided by the owner for our arrival were most generous and very useful! Very much looking forward to staying at Fellside again.

  • "We had a fantastic time!"

Linda was very thoughtful with the little touches that made this cosy cottage instantly welcoming and very homely. It was well equipped, in an absolutely beautiful, remote location and it met our needs completely. Although we were not able to open the door to let our dog out by himself we just slipped on his lead and were out on open fells within less than 10 seconds.

    We loved its isolated location.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Fellside cottage."

We had a warm greeting on arrival from Linda the owner. The location for us was superb, we like to be far from anyone else. The cottage was warm cosy and had all we needed, very clean, and comfortable beds. We would certainly return to Fellside again.

  • "I was expecting a garden but was fairly disappointed with having an old dog ."

I knew it was on a working farm but didn't expect to walk straight into a farm yard where greeted by barking dogs each time day or night. I cannot fault the house for cleanliness and warmth ..if anything too warm. The only living space was claustraphobicially tiny that was only just big enough for 2 although still got in each other's way, an equally tiny but well equipped kitchen and an oven that didnt seem to heat up very well taking considerably longer to cook Christmas dinner than I really wanted. The lack of a mop for the high traffic areas meant I had to get on hands and knees to clean the floors. The internet was a very weak signal which came from farmhouse next door and most of the time didn't work and I anticipated there would be no phone signal and was relying on wireless to keep in touch with my family over the festive period but mostly wasn't able...had to drive to top of lane to call out. The owner was very nice and friendly. I know she lived in the ajoining property and could ask for anything but I went away to be away and not pester or be pestered.

The online advert states there is a garden/patio in the bullet points at the beginning of the advert. The advert then later confirms that there is a Patio Courtyard, not a Garden. The Christmas tree took a bit of extra space but there is plenty of space in the bedrooms. The kitchen is not large but has everything needed normally, however we can see that for Christmas cooking it may be rather cosy! Unfortunately due to the rural location of the cottage it is true that the internet strength and mobile phone signal is quite poor, however we feel the stunning scenery more than makes up for this. • "Made full use of, and very much appreciated, the secure bicycle store."

Would have also been good to know that there was an actual freezer [in the understairs cupboard] in addition to the freezer box in the fridge, as we could have organised our catering slightly differently. Very comfy bed and plenty of space with just 2 of us.
