The property

Melbourne House, a characterful Lakeland stone cottage, sits in the heart of the friendly village of Coniston, in the idyllic Lake District National Park.

Engulfed by the remarkable opportunities of this astounding landscape, this is a charming base for a rural retreat with your friends or family.

Enter your home-from-home from the parking area and be welcomed into a delightful breakfast kitchen, made from the metal of wartime spitfires and lined with vibrant red worktops, it also offers charming breakfast table to enjoy your morning meals at before each day begins.

The original slate flooring leads you into an alluring living/dining room which boasts enticing red sofas and a beautiful rustic woodburning stove, with a lovely dining area completing the layout.

The ground floor of the property concludes with a neutrally decorated double bedroom, perfect for those less able or any couple of the group.

Two further bedrooms are found on the first floor; a double room and a twin zip/link room offering flexible accommodation depending on the sleeping arrangements you require, each room offers a bright and airy spot to rest your head in at the end of each day of adventure.

A charming blue and white family shower room completes the first floor, providing guests with a lovely spot to prepare for your day in.

Take advantage of this spectacular rural location from the comfort of your lawned garden, relaxing in the furniture which showcases the most wonderful fell views.

A short stroll brings you into Coniston, a quaint village with a choice of charming pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as the Ruskin Museum and the picture-perfect Coniston Water, with its watersporting opportunities making a brilliant day out for all of the family.

Nearby are some of the National Park's most popular attractions; Hawkshead with the Beatrix Potter Gallery and the Fitzwilliam Gallery, and Ambleside being the perfect place for a day of relaxing, with a wide selection of eateries on offer to celebrate that special occasion.

A trip further afield takes you to the superb inland resort of Bowness-on-Windermere, here you will be greeted by attractions such as The World of Beatrix Potter, Windermere Jetty, Museum of Boats, Steam and Stories and even more waterside adventure.
