  • "Everything provided and beds lovely and comfortable."

Bathrooms fantastic except for the fact the mirror in the bathroom with the bath was too high and too far away for me. A little mirror for ladies to do makeup would be very useful as would a full length mirror in the bedrooms. My main problem was the two sofas - both were really uncomfortable and made my back ache. I managed by sitting on an extra cushion and had one behind me. I found the dining chairs rather uncomfortable too and needed to move my cushion from the sofa.

  • "One word AMAZING."

This place was so cosy and homely from the moment we stepped in my wife and daughter felt at home especially after a 5 hour journey because of the weather and stoppages. We loved every detail of the cottage how it was layed out and decorated. The en-suite were a treat for the eyes spacious and a great deep bath to indulge in. Tonia was very attentive and helpful from the moment go helped wiv leaflets which helped a lot and we visited them which we all enjoyed as a family. Tonia also visited us to see how we were getting on and spent her time playing with my daughter which was really nice to see she was truly great to help us with any issue and was really sweet. I will definitely be visiting again. My wife and daughter didn’t want to leave lol

Everything is supplied to provide a very comfortable stay whether your using it as a base for hiking or you stay in front of the fire and chill on the cosy sofas and relax. The bathrooms are stunning with the added bonus of locally sourced toiletries. The photos from the website do not do The Hayloft justice, we had a wonderful weeks stay and wished we were their longer. Tonia was a wonderful host, she popped in briefly to check all was OK and was kind enough to give us some location tips.

Immaculate ensuite bathrooms. Thermostat in living area so radiators could be clicked on quickly and cottage soon toasty warm throughout. Beautiful views over open fields with lambs skipping about. Difficult to find fault with anything. Maybe a drainer for the washing up would be useful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

away from the frenetic tourist spots of the lakes but within easy and quick access to the southern lakes and mountains. local walks abound, for all levels of walkers and there are good food, pub, brewery experiences nearby. the hayloft is a well maintained property, with high end bathroom fixtures and fittings. the underfloor heating in the bathrooms is excellent especially if you stay in winter like i did. the wifi is excellent and ran my firestick with no issues, the tv has both USB and HDMI connections. the kitchen has everything you would need, again with quality new looking appliances. the rear garden has a decked seating area and i can imagine it would be the perfect place to sit during summer evenings, with an outlook onto fields and hills. the 2 bedrooms have plenty of storage space enough for a week or two week stay and extremely comfortable beds. the central heating system throughout the property is excellent with controls downstairs and in the bedrooms and heats the property right through in no time at all. we received a very warm welcome from the owner and offers a good local knowledge of the surrounding area and throughout the lake district and are always willing to help in anyway they can with any problems you may have during your stay. overall an excellent 7 night stay through the christmas period at the hayloft and would definitely return to stay again.
