  • "The place is fascinating even at first glance."

The cabin is super clean, very well maintained, and equipped with basic home necessities and entertainment. We've enjoyed the fact that there are some table games in-house aside from the TV, which made us entertained given the fact that the internet connection isn't stable. Overall, I would love to go back if given a chance, and would definitely recommend Aspen Grove to others.

  • "Hello We had a great time at the cottage!"

Everything was amazing except the wifi - it couldn’t handle more than two people on their phone! Other than that, it was amazing. Could I please ask to be signed out of the Netflix account? We forgot to do so! Thank you so much for sharing the property and giving us a great experience.

Hello, I'm so glad to hear that you had a really good time! Yes you are signed out of Netflix now, and yes WiFi and mobile signal are patchy in places in the Lakes. From next month we have upgraded our contract which should make it a bit better. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a feedback :-) Property Owner

  • "Spent 2 nights, with grandparents and kids."

The lodge was very comfortable and nicely set up. The park was in a great location - you could walk to the lake side. The only down side was we arrived in the dark and it was tricky to find. There is a map that can be down loaded which may have helped. Once we had found it it was lovely.

Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to write a feedback and we are delighted that you had a lovely time in the lodge. Yes we heard about your wanderings in the dark, and the link to the Park's map is now included in the route description guests receive Property Owner

The property

Troutbeck Bridge 1 mile.

Tucked away on the outskirts of Troutbeck Bridge is this stylish, single-storey lodge, Aspen Grove.

The lakeside lodge sits on White Cross Bay Holiday Park in the Lake District, a quiet Holiday Park on the Lake shore with wooded areas and a rural feel, which makes an ideal base for families to explore the surrounding countryside, with off-road parking, a private garden, open-plan living, and plenty of on-site facilities to choose from.

Stepping inside, you'll find a contemporary open-plan living space finished to a high standard.

Prepare evening meals with ease in the fully-equipped kitchen to be served at the dining table for six or out in your private garden area.

You can set up on the decking area or the picnic bench for alfresco dining surrounded by woodland and birdsong.

As night falls, retire to the sitting area with an electric fire to warm you up and a Smart TV for entertainment.

Completing the lodge are three bedrooms with built-in storage, a double with en-suite cloakroom, and two 2'6 twins, along with a shower room.

White Cross Bay Holiday Park has something for everyone including a swimming pool, walking and cycling routes, an on-site bar and restaurant, and a range of activities for little ones․ Guests will be able to use the lakeshore to launch their own boats or paddle boards etc but for safety reasons the Park does not allow swimming in the marina area․ People do swim from Brockhole just to the north of the park, and from the Lake shore at Millerground, just south of Troutbeck Bridge.

If you want to explore further afield, Windermere is a stone's throw away for watersports and boat cruises along the lake, hikes to the top of Orrest Head, and family-friendly attractions such as The World of Beatrix Potter.

The historic town of Ambleside is also close by where Ambleside Climbing Wall, the remains of Roman Fort, and woodland walks to Stock Ghyll Force offer something for everyone.

Head to Grasmere to visit the former home of William Wordsworth, or perhaps make your way to Grizedale for scenic walking and cycling trails.

Coniston, Hawkshead, and Kendal are all popular Lakeland locations, whilst breath-taking hikes to the top of Scafell Pike are perfect for avid explorers.

Discover all that the Lake District has to offer on your next family getaway at Aspen Grove.

Directions:
Enter by White Cross Bay main entrance (don't believe SatNav about a shortcut). Bear left and carefully drive past the reception building and main complex. Turn left past barriers. At T junction turn left again (Calgarth Park is signposted second from the bottom). Follow road as it winds right, drive past laundrette as road rises, then turn right. Next, turn left and immediately right. Count 2 wooden lodges on your left, then a side road (don't enter it!), then 1 more wooden lodge, then you arrive at 54 Calgarth. Park near the small staircase to unload. A hedge marks the boundary with next-door. Additional parking to the left of the property as seen from the road. The key safe is at the top of the little staircase, on the gate post to your left.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.
