  • "We enjoyed our stay at this clean, comfortable and well-equipped lodge."

Our little dog came with us and soon settled in. The lake and dog walk were very close by and we saw deer, various waterfowl and ducklings. The owners had thoughtfully provided games, furniture covers and cleaning products and there was plenty of good quality crockery and cutlery. We were warm and cosy although the weather was variable. The heating was very effective and there was always plenty of hot water. When the sun shone, we sat on the very comfortable outdoor furniture with the patio doors wide open while our dog sunbathed on the securely enclosed decking. The parking space large enough for two cars was also appreciated. We could not use the park WiFi at the lodge during our stay but could access it by the lakeside. This is a lovely lodge and we would definitely use it again.

Very clean, hand wash in the hallway as you enter. Plenty of space,we were a party of five with a dog. 2 parking spaces available. Cannot speak highly enough of this accommodation in a stunning location. Good communication with the owners re check-in and out,key access etc. A lot of love and thought has gone into this lodge to ensure clients have a good stay.Loved it.

  • "Lovely lodge, so close to Lake Windermere."

The lodge is a good size, modern and very clean. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Even the dog bowls were supplied. Wi-Fi almost non existent, although we were aware of this before we booked. No toiletries with the exception of hand wash supplied, so don’t forget to take shampoo, body wash etc. The park was quiet, with a mixture of ages staying in the lodges. The park is well kept and attractive with Troutbeck running through. Staff driving round were friendly and helpful. The park is between Bowness and Ambleside, we walked to both from here. Looking forward to returning in the future.

  • "The lodge was beautiful and clean and well equipped."

We were very comfortable apart from the main bedroom which was very cold in the night. The duvet could have been bigger and thicker for winter.

Thank you for your feedback and glad you found the lodge clean & well equipped. The duvet is a double size as is the bed, but had you made me aware you were cold you could have used the spare duvet which was in the wardrobe. Its a pity you didnt tell me this when I was in contact with you throughout the week to make sure everything was ok. Property Owner

  • "Wonderful stay at this beautiful lodge, was spotlessly clean and luxurious and really made our Wedding & Christmas perfect!"

It was really comfortable and cosy and we actually got really good phone signal & data during our stay which we’ve never had before at White Cross Bay. The washing machine was so handy, especially with 2 boys doing muddy activities! We were so sad to leave and would have loved to have stayed longer but will definitely be back to this lodge.

  • "It is a beautiful cabin we stayed in it last year last why we rebooked it."

its still lovely but it was not as pristine as last year still clean no arguments there but the outside windows at the front where full of marks so we cleaned them the glass coffe table was dusty underneath its hard with glass we know that. the facilities are excellent it just seemed a little tired in the cleaning this year. I would still recommend it as we love the cabin just little things that need a little more attention. everything is so comfy and like being home from home only in a lovely place.

I am very sorry you were disappointed with the cleaning at the lodge this time. I have, of course, passed your comments about the dusty coffee table on to my cleaner. She would have been happy to return and rectify had we known at the beginning of your stay. The window cleaners call once a month and it's a shame that did not coincide with your visit. It was lovely to welcome you back to our lodge and thank you for bringing this issue to my attention. Property Owner

  • "The lodge was lovely but the cleanliness was disappointing."

The family bath had a dirty line all around it, the bath panel was very dirty and dusty. Huge cobwebs in the Kitchen area and windowsills were dusty. This never affected are stay and we would stay again but we did find it disappointing. We did make the owners aware of it.

We are very sorry to hear you had issues with the cleaning and thank you for bringing it to our attention. These comments were passed onto the cleaner immediately and she apologises profusely. As with all bookings we do ensure our guests have email and mobile contact numbers and had we known there was an issue at the beginning of your stay the cleaner would have responded immediately. It was nice to hear it did not affect your enjoyment of the lodge. Property Owner

It exceeded our expectations and we’d definitely use it again when we return to the Lakes. We were a little sceptical as it was dog friendly but have to say the quality and cleanliness was superb. We had a couple of queries on the 1st day and we emailed the owners who responded within a couple of minutes. Just a pity we couldn’t use the outside facilities as much as we’d like due to the weather. All in all highly recommended and we’d have no issues in going there again a real home from home.

The logde itself is well designed and beautifully decorated. The surrounding areas have some breathtaking scenery of Windermere and Bowness, and if your able to there are hundreds of short and long walks all over the area. For myself a walk around Derwentwater in Keswick offers up some brilliant views whilst being a steady walk.
