  • "Was a bit wary of booking through Sykes as we have used them before and had a few issues especially with cleanliness of the properties but this time the lodge was very good condition and very clean and tidy would definitely consider in the future thanks."

  • "Had an amazing time thank you so much."

. I would definitely book this again. The only thing I could say, was the mattress in the master I found very uncomfortable. I did take the mattress out the twin room and placed on top which made it much more comfortable. But out the whole it was a beautiful place and an even better location!! Look forward to coming back again next year.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at the lodge even though the weather was awful."

After booking I read some of the reviews so I had a few worries however these were completely the opposite to what I had read and had no comparison to our stay whatsoever. The lodge was beautiful, everything you required is in there. The management staff and cleaners were absolutely amazing! We will definitely be booking again and hopefully the weather is better next time. I felt so grateful despite the awful weather we were in a beautiful and comfortable lodge.

  • "Lodge not ready for arrival time - was over an hour later when cleaning was complete."

Lodge had lots of cobwebs at high level. There was a sewerage drain outside the had spilled raw sewage just outside the decking area, which was extreme unpleasant. Poor utensils available - not even a pair of scissors. Sykes emailed about the about the late check in issue and sewage when we finally got into the property and still had no response but yet asked to leave feedback! Location excellent but not value for money compared to other places we have stayed at through Sykes.

30 as I assume it was the cleaner still there too!Property needs a good lick of paint.Took until the second day to get informed dishwasher was faulty, but we had already found this out when electricity kept tripping.Still waiting for a reply to my txt on wether there was a hoover at the property.

Hi there, I am extremely sorry that you had an issue upon arrival and hope it didn't effect your stay at Lake Escape, the lodge has undergone a refresh over the January Period that the park is shut we have painted installed a new dishwasher as we wasn't aware of this being faulty and are currently looking into purchasing a resident hoover for the property We apologise again for any inconvenience caused Property Owner

  • "Great location and many great things about the lodge."

Easy reach to much of lakes. Good heating, very comfortable, bedrooms and bathrooms perfect for our family. Good holiday but a few minor things that could have been a bit better just with a bit of prior communication. There were a few things not working that were known prior to our stay but not shared with us which should have been. I have tried to get in touch with Lake District lodges as asked by property manager but no response as yet which is disappointing. The smart tV was not smart as the wifi dus not connect to tv ( and in fact te Wi-Fi. Was not strong enough at all the whole stay) as our Christmas break we had a few films ready to go we could not use - we were told this was being fixed in new year. The dishwasher was broken prior to our stay - No one told us about this and we tried to use it causing the power to blow leaving the lodge without power until we found out how to turn back on inside and outside the lodge. It took the property manager 24 hrs to get back to us which by then it was Christmas Eve. A new dishwasher/part was ordered once again to be fitted in new year. Both things that should have been told to us as we had selected lodge because of these facilities and the weather was terrible so the smart TV would have been a good addition (would have been just been good to know rather than us having to find out ourselves and have the electrics blow) Property manager says that Lake District lodges have been advised prior to our stay and I await their response.

Hi Steph, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at lake escape and took in all the surroundings for how perfect the lodge location is! with regards to the problems that you came across i can only apologise on behalf of us here at lake escape over the new year we acted on the feedback we have been given and gave the the lodge Refresh! The Dishwasher has been replaced as well as repainted and a few other things! with regards to the power tripping we are currently in talks with park dean themselves as the problem stems from a redundant electric box being faulty which was what has made the electrics on lake escape to trip and unfortunately is out of our hands but i have been reassured this will not happen again. with regards to the WIFI we have had WIFI installed directly into the lodge the problem we come across is due to the location of the lodge the WIFI works but isn't your usual download speed you have at home with regards to this not connecting to the TV i shall look into this and get this resolved! we appreciate your feedback as we are always aiming to be the best! Kindest Regards. Property Owner

  • "The cabin was ok."

A little worn out and in need of some tlc. Only just enough crockery. Shower tray not good and blocked. Light bulbs. Lovely position. Site facilities good. BUT From the weds we had severe disruption due to cabins across roadway from us being remover. While we realise this has to happen at some time there was no warning or info given at all. We had to go out on both weds and Thurs due to noise and mess. We could not park beside our cabin and noise drive our dog crazy. I spoke to sure manager who was not interested and emailed head office who said not their fault but down to you to have informed us. We went a long way and spent a lot of money for this holiday and would definitely not have booked that week if we had known about this maintenance. Have reported this by phone to you but was told not your fault either. Sykes team very polite.

Hi Alison, we are very sorry to hear that about your stay, unfortunately as the maintenance that you have said about doesn't have anything to do with lake escape, we are unfortunately don't get told of such things as it is down the park not us as an individual, please can you confirm who you spoke to via phone as the owner I haven't received any calls regarding this and would be interested in finding out who it is you are contacting as it isn't myself and you said the sykes team is very polite. I can reassure you that the shower tray etc have all since been addressed as I visited the property myself after your departure for a break. I shall contact sykes and park dean and make sure going forward we are aware of all park maintenance around the lodge, so this doesn't happen again. again, I am sincerely sorry for the inconvenience caused and hope you still managed to enjoy the lovely views and surroundings of lake escape. Kindest regards Connor. Property Owner

  • "Although the setting and views were great, we felt the cabin was not very clean on arrival."

Banners from the previous occupier were still hanging up. The fridge was not clean (had to clean ourselves on arrival). The bbq was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned. The shared bathroom shower waste was blocked so the tray filled up very quickly and the toilet here still had faecal matter in the pan, which once again, we had to clean ourselves. The window boards in the living area were both full of dead flies and moths. Litter was scattered all around the back of the cabin. There were stains on the bottom bunk bed sheets. We were thinking of complaining when we first got on site but just felt it was more hassle than it was worth as the children were so excited to be away so we decided to just make best of the situation we were in.

  • "Had a fantastic week at the lodge."

It was just perfect, the view from the decking onto the lake was just beautiful. We did a movie under the stars which the kids loved. The decking was great for keeping the dog secure whilst having a bit of freedom to roam outside. A lovely lodge, the owners were really friendly and helpful and we all agreed we would most definitely return to the same lodge. 5 stars
