The property

Discover this heart-warming retreat in a secluded spot within the White Cross Bay Holiday Park, just a stone's throw from the shores of Lake Windermere.

The Retreat is a lovely detached lodge presenting a family of four with a fabulous base for their Lakes adventures, with the park located in the charming village of Troutbeck Bridge and within reach of all the popular attractions of this beloved national park.

Take in the lovely tree-lined surroundings before stepping into the property, turning left to head straight into the open-plan living space, with neutral tones and quality furnishings to greet you, you'll have no trouble settling in here.

Choose something on the TV to watch while you sink into the large sofa, with an elegant electric fire adding a homely sense, before making use of the kitchen appliances to rustle up a home-cooked meal for all, with a dining area to gather around for family meals.

At the other end of the lodge you can find the pretty bedrooms, with a twin room featuring two 2'6" single beds being perfect for children, and the master double offering a tranquil spot to rest, with both rooms served by a neat shower room.

A wonderful feature of this lodge is the lovely decked area outside, open up the French doors from the sitting area on a summer day and set up an alfresco lunch at the picnic table, or delight in some evening drinks up on the raised decking, enjoying your private secluded location.

The fabulous facilities on-site at White Cross Bay are sure to impress and entertain all, with a bar/restaurant providing the perfect place to dine when you need a night off from cooking, a Costa coffee shop to help fuel your adventures, and a host of fun to be had in the indoor swimming pool, great for keeping kids active on a rainy day, while a sauna offers some relaxation, and the gym and multi-sports court mean you can keep up your active routine on holiday, there's so much on offer!

When you can tear yourself away from this fun-filled park, begin exploring the wondrous Lake District by hopping onto a Windermere Lake Cruise to view the stunning lake, England's longest body of water, from a different perspective, admiring the surrounding scenery while you're on your way to one of the popular towns.

Stop at Ambleside to explore the historic Roman fort remains here, before browsing the local shops in the town, visiting 17th century The Bridge House and embarking on a walk just out of the centre along the beck and up to Stock Ghyll Force to admire the natural wonder of this 70ft waterfall surrounded by scenic woodland.

Back down in Bowness-on-Windermere you can enjoy the delights of The World of Beatrix Potter before purchasing a souvenir in Peter Rabbit and Friends gift shop, while on the southern shores find the amazing Lakes Aquarium home to sharks, otters and reptiles!

Along with an array of watersports on the lake, outdoor activities and the wondrous peaks and fells to hike all around, you're never short of ideas!
