“The setting of this property is quite mundane, there are no views to speak of.”
The property was clean but there are a number of things that could be improved. There was one thin duvet provided and the first night there was uncomfortably cold. No instructions were provided on how to work the timer on the boiler (an obscure make, no information on the internet). The bath/shower would only be adequate for a child, so that if you are tall, you will struggle. The TV far too small for the living room, you had to squint to read the channel information. Log burners are not receiving a good press, health wise, so this was not used, even though it would have warmed up the living room. This top floor property is quiet and well located for Kendal, although beware of the one way system!). It is also next door to the Crooklands Hotel, which may be an advantage, if you do not wish to cook using the perfectly adequate facilities in the property. As stated, entrance to the property is via an external (covered) staircase, which is not for the faint hearted. I would not return due to the heating situation (it should not be necessary to telephone for help, this is a basic facility) and the lack of views.
