  • "Lovely comfortable well maintained cottage with excellent facilities."

A real home from home! Culgaith is ideally situated for a base to explore the Lake District or if your preference is to stay local a lovely village to take life slower, lovely walks etc. The owners were so friendly and welcoming; nothing was too much trouble. The Black Swan Culgaith is worth a mention here too, great food and ambience.

  • "The hosts Joanna and family were lovely and helpful."

The cottage was spotless and although initially unsure about the bed being comfortable I had 7 nights of great sleep. The only thing that would have been beneficial would have been a washer. The dishwasher we never used and I think the space, for us would have been better used with a washing machine. I would recommend Pea Top Cottage and would stay again, great holiday

  • "Joanne and David made us very welcome and were easy to approach for advice."

A big plus for us was a safe area for our little dogs to run around in. The cottage was immaculately clean and having a full-length bath was a big plus. There is lots of storage and drawers and the rooms are of a good size. The seating in the living room needs some attention and Joanne is aware of this and is going to improve it. We had a lovely week and are looking forward to staying next year all being well.

  • "The annex was nice and warm but beds really need replacing as mattress springs very uncomfortable and chairs to sit on not good the settee was old and very low and very uncomfortable to sit on and the chairs modern but tip forwards when you sit on them."

They are not suitably for people with disability’s even though there is a ramp for easy access the owners very helpfull

Thank you for your feedback. Although the property does have ramp access to it, it is not advertised as suitable for those with a disability and had you had any concerns prior to booking we could have contact the owner to gain further information to ensure it was suited to your needs. The owner was disappointed to read your comments on the soft furnishings, while they appreciate they cannot cater to everyone's requirements the usual feedback regarding beds and sofas are excellent. Had they been made aware of your struggle with the sofa they could have made implements available for you to combat your problem and make your stay more enjoyable, it is regrettable that they were not given this opportunity. Over all the owners hope this didn't detract from your stay at Pea Top Cottage and look forward to seeing you again soon. Property Owner

The cottage is modern and tastefully furnished, plenty of hot water and everything well maintained. Easily accessible off road parking too, Pea Top ticked all the boxes for us. The owners are helpful and friendly without being intrusive and it was a pleasant place to relax after a day of sightseeing. There’s loads to do and explore in the area and Culgaith is a pretty, quiet village with lovely walks. Nearby Lowther Castle was stunning, we enjoyed our visit, I would highly recommend Pea Top Cottage and hope to visit again.

  • "We stayed at Pea Top for 5 nights using it as a base to go walking in both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Moors."

The village of Culgaith is extremely friendly and welcoming. The cottage itself has good parking for 2 cars, is well laid out, clean and comfortable with extensive T.V. channels if you have time to watch the T.V. As for Joanne and her husband, you really couldn't ask for better hosts. Friendly, informative if you have a question about the area, welcoming without being intrusive, I just can't express enough how friendly these two people are, this knits with the village where everyone I met was welcoming, friendly and helpful. If I was going to move too Cumbria I would move to Culgaith. In short, if you are planning to stay in Cumbria, you will not find a better location than Pea Top Cottage Culgaith. Brilliant.
