The small rural village of Cumrew is ideally placed for exploring the Eden Valley and Northern Cumbria, including not-to-be-missed Hadrian's Wall, the lovely coastline of the Solway Firth and the dramatic northern Lake District National Park. The local fells of Cumrew and Castle Carrock are a well-kept secret for walkers and cyclists; take a relaxed stroll along the banks of the River Eden or visit the Geltsdale RSPB Reserve, which takes you up into some of the most unspoilt and undiscovered countryside in Britain. Several pubs nearby provide excellent food and the bustling market towns of Penrith and Brampton are both within easy reach, providing an array of shops, pubs and restaurants.
