  • "It was rather disconcerting to arrive and find a bbq being used right outside our bedroom window and then the next day a shelter was built over it."

Even though the window was fitted with one way glass it still felt awkward when some one is standing outside your window, and we felt we could not open it even though we were staying during the heatwave. Also a teapot and a drying rack for the dishes would be handy.

  • "We stayed at Crummock View in February 2022."

The cottage is beautiful. Clean, well kept, the beds and pillows are comfy, the kitchen well equipped and the bathroom spacious with a nice shower and bath. We arrived during one of the storms and Hannah did message us to check to see we were ok. This was a lovely touch as I was driving an unfamiliar hire car, in the wind and pouring rain on unfamiliar country roads. She also left us some milk, chocolate fingers and tangerines which my children adored! There was already tea, coffee and sugar there for that much needed cup of tea when we arrived! All in all, I’ve told everyone on my FB page and friends and family how lovely it was and have given them the link to book if they’re ever in this area!

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. Hopefully we’ll see you again soon! Xx Property Owner

  • "Lovely property with some thoughtful extra touches from the owner e."

    G. milk in the fridge, biscuits, fresh flowers etc. Superb views all around and village of Austwick very beautiful. As mentioned in the blurb it’s very close to the busy road but in fairness traffic noise noise wasn’t a problem, just close to fast travelling vehicles. We enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Really lovely cottage, well equipped with some brilliant touches, centrally located for a great walking experience, yes it is very close to a main road but the description makes that very clear and it didn't bother us

The cottage was lovely but the busy road being so close was a problem for us.

  • "We had a fabulous stay at Crummock View!"

The house is very well “stocked” and had everything we could have needed for our stay. It is also more spacious than the pictures suggest. The boot / utility area at the door was really helpful. We took loads of local walks and were well positioned for trips further afield. The noise from the road was noticeable at first, but soon faded into the background. We would happily stay there again! Thanks!

  • "The cottage was as described, as I know the area well, I knew it was on the main A65, but once inside the road didn’t affect our stay, it was lovely and clean especially at the moment with the Covid."

It was well stocked with most essentials, including cleaning items, better than many of the cottages I have been in previously used. We had a slight problem with the television but a quick call to Hannah, the owner sorted that. Would definitely go again if I was going to the area.

  • "Lovely cottage, very clean and tidy and well equipped."

Only downside was the noise from passing traffic as it was positioned directly on the roadside, but holiday enjoyable none the less.

  • "We had a brilliant stay at Crummock View."

The cottage was spotlessly clean, really comfortable and well equipped. It was close to the busy road which meant some road noise but it didn't bother us in the evenings when we were watching TV. There were beautiful views all around and lots of walks to do in the area.

  • "This is a great location for exploring the area, really close to Austwick, Settle and Ingleton, plus beautiful views from the house."

The house is great, well equipped, clean and comfortable, and should you need to get in touch with the owner with any questions they are really kind and helpful.

  • "Immaculately clean cottage- never stopped anywhere so clean!"

Lovely layout inside particularly liked the entrance hall/utility for dumping our coats and boots etc in, beautiful curtains and blinds and extremely comfortable beds! It is right on a very busy roadside but once we had settled down to watch TV on an evening we never noticed and also slept well. Fantastic views from the cottage. Only just got round to writing this review some 8 months later but would definitely recommend this cottage.

Also for the personal contact prior to arrival checking details for bedrooms etc. Beautiful scenery all round, with lots of easily accessible places of interest within easy reach. For a quiet relaxing holiday this is the place to be. We hope to return.

  • "The property is very clean, spacious and well-equipped."

The situation is great and the views on all sides are splendid. The interior is well designed and thoughtfully decorated. We especially liked the bathroom walls! Car-parking is very convenient and being located on the main road it is very easy to get out and about. The downside to the location is traffic noise although there was very little at night and we quickly became accustomed to it anyway. We had a brief internet problem and the owner was very helpful and persistent in sorting it out with the service provider. We enjoyed our 7-day stay and found many good Dales walks nearby. We also thought that the rental was very reasonable for a property that accommodates 4 adults in such a great location.

  • "Exceptional - spotless, thought of everything and facilities exceeded my families expectations."

We had a lovely time at Crummock View cottage. The only thing is that as previous reviews had stated (so aware on booking) that Crummock View was on the doorstep of the A65 so some traffic noise; however this did not affect our stay and enjoyment of the property in fact it gave great access to the Lakes, Ingleton Falls, Settle, Skipton etc. etc. and beautiful views of the Yorkshire Dales. On arrival we found wine, biscuit and crisps and I must not forget, beautiful fresh flowers. Thank you!!

  • "Crummock View provides very good value for money."

It is described as being in Austwick (a very beautiful village) and technically it is but it is actually a 0.8 km walk from the main village across the busy A65.

  • "This little cottage is a hidden gem!"

Beautiful interior with lots of facilities. We were contacted a few days before to see how we wanted the beds set up. Lovely beds and bedding. The welcome pack was unexpected. Fantastic views from all sides of the building. Even though it is next to the road you can't really hear the traffic. The only thing to say would be when running a bath the water didn't get very warm. Perhaps we weren't doing it right. The shower however was spot on. Would recommend and stay here again! Can't understand why it isn't a four star.
