  • "Lovely property which was ideal for our short family trip to the Lakes."

The house is really well equipped and has a local grocery store in walking distance. The parking is tight but fine for keeping your car off-road.

  • "Lovely cottage, very comfortable and clean."

Perfect for our stay visiting family locally.

  • "We cannot praise the cottage highly enough, it is highly decorated ,well equipped, spotless , a real home from home."

However parking was difficult due to the units at the back and cars parked outside them ,also once parked there is very little room especially if you have a dog! Having said that it will not stop us returning to this beautiful cottage , would highly recommend it , and Milnthrope is a wonderful base to explore our beloved Lakes.

  • "The cottage was immaculate and to a very high standard."

It is however marketed with an enclosed garden and this is not the case. With a 1 yr old and a dog it was a bit unnerving and meant we couldn’t sit outside.

  • "We hadn't been to this area before and we were so pleased with how accessible it was to explore from Milnthorpe."

We were bowled over by Arnside, the beach at the estuary and The Albion. The pub and curry house at Milnthorpe were great and I shall go back to visit The Silver Forge and Levens Hall! The house was spotless and just great as a base and the owners were lovely.

  • "With being dog owners, we were unable to let dog out in rear garden which was also the car parking space, and only outside space was not enclosed as listing stated so could only let the dog on the lead."

When car was parked there was very limited space in garden. Also to the rear of the property were business units which at times made it difficult to access parking space. Another issue was the limited kitchen equipment i.e no oven gloves, only two sauce pan (pasta pan and med pan) The quality of property was to high standard except for comms made above

Thank you for your feedback, its important to us. We have taken onboard what you have said and will look to make improvements going forward, Sykes cottages. Property Owner

About the location

Arnside 3 miles; Silverdale 6 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

Milnthorpe, once an important medieval market town, is located in the South Lakes between Kendal and Carnforth, just a few miles from the seaside village of Arnside. Reminders of the town's history can still be found today amongst the narrow lanes and historic buildings, which speak of a time when a coach and four was more common than a four-wheel drive. Set in lovely rolling countryside, the area has much to offer, with the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis offering a tropical hall and butterfly house. Dallam Tower and Levens Hall (historic and beautiful stately homes with their deer parks, topiary and ornamental gardens) provide a great day out for visitors. Leighton Hall, Sizergh Castle, the Great Lakes Aquarium, Windermere and Grizedale Forest are also all within easy reach and well worth a visit. From stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks to beaches and scenic coastal paths, there really is something for everyone.
