  • "Bela Cottage is a lovely property and I would recommend it…."

Very clean and the bottle of Prosecco was a lovely welcome gift….It would have been nicer if there had been some fizz glasses to drink it from. A few things that could be improved on are a bigger TV and instructions for working electrical items. I know the info said due to Covid they couldn’t leave instruction but there was a folder with cottage info in where they could have been placed. The tap in the kitchen is still very wobbly and needs fixing. Overall it’s a lovely cottage.

  • "Boiler was noisy and woke us up each morning."

Kitchen tap is loose. TV a bit small. But otherwise the place was good and comfortable and well equipped. No real complaints tbh. Good location for visiting the Lakes and Dales.

Bela Cottage is great - good dog walk practically on the doorstep with the deer park and pubs and food also minutes away -but the area was still nice and peaceful Only blip is that in stormy conditions the free sat TV signal cuts out regularly but I think that is the area Definitely would go again

  • "Had a great stay it was very clean and the beds were comfy kitchen had everything you would need."

Our only criticism would be the seating in th living room wasn’t vey comfy and a bit of a squash for 4 adults but we really enjoyed our stay

  • "Really lovely cottage with plenty of space for our family of four and the dog."

The beds were really comfy, although the thick duvets were too much in the summer heat. The complimentary bottle of prosecco was a nice touch. The garden is a little over grown and an indoor clothes airer would be handy but overall a lovely place.

  • "This end of terrace is in a rectangle of 22 properties."

Clean and tidy with an excellent bathroom with walk in shower with a Booths , pubs and takeaways in easy walking distance. Good wifi and spacious for a couple with 2 children. Its inaccurate to describe as 2 parking spots as only one is reserved with a shared visitor spot generally used. TV is too small for the room with no instructions as there are 2 remotes to be used - microwave is old and v. noisy and the wobbly kitchen tap is disconcerting.

  • "Bela cottage was lovely in most respects - it is within a small housing development and fronts onto the road, conveniently located close to the centre of Milnthorpe with lots of beautiful countryside and things to do on your doorstep."

The interior is nicely presented and very comfortable. Unfortunately, our stay got off to a poor start as we arrived to find a poo in the toilet which was not the nicest welcome and this significantly undermined our confidence in the thoroughness of the cleaning. Some of the kitchen cupboards and some kitchen items could in fact have been cleaner, e.g. there was a hair on one of the tea towels and a few crumbs on some of the cupboard shelves, some of the kitchen equipment didn’t seem to have been through a dishwasher for some time. We were really surprised and disappointed by the response from Sykes and the owner of the cottage when we raised these issues, they were unwilling to offer any sort of apology and focused instead on disputing that the photos we had taken showed what we said they did. This was infuriating, and left us feeling neither valued nor respected as customers. So disappointing as in all other respects we really enjoyed our stay. We won’t be booking with Sykes again.

Thank you for your feedback. I sincerely apologise for any miscommunication. My aim is to ensure my guests have the best possible experience. As a result of this review, I have now changed my cleaning supplier. I am confident that, going forward, my guests will receive a level of service of the highest standards during their stay. • "Bela Cottage was the perfect home from home for us for our 10 day holiday with our dog."

The cottage was exceptionally well equipped with comfortable furniture/beds and all the home comforts we needed for our stay. The wood burning stove was particularly welcome on some of the cooler nights we were there. The location is great for exploring the Lakes and Dales and the village of Milnthorpe itself had all the facilities we needed for self catering plus a selection of great pubs and restaurants close by for eating out. Highly recommended.
