  • "A gorgeous apartment, with every detail thought of."

Immaculate and well designed. Our older children loved their own floor and we loved the historical aspect. Cannot fault anything. The crossing was a little noisy, but not enough to spoil sleep. There’s a small area to sit in the kitchen, so no need for a table. Beautiful and would definitely recommend. Thank you so much x

  • "Just a friendly thought; a door stopper in the upstairs bathroom may help save the wall from the door handle, I couldn't help but notice a mark from somebody previously."

It's a minor really but I thought it worth mentioning. Lovely apartment!

  • "The apartment was very nice, clean and tastefully decorated, but was situated on a very busy main road."

The high level of traffic impacted on our sleep, in both of the bedrooms. There was a pelican crossing on the main road which made a noise when used, therefore beeping late at night and early in the morning. There is only a pavement before the very busy road. The balcony was only really big enough for 2 chairs at a squeeze, even though the apartment is advertised for 4 people. There is no dining area or trays provided,so eating in means you would have to eat meals balanced on your knees, which could result in accidents/spillages.The stairs to upstairs open bedroom are extremely steep, and would not be suitable for young children or elderly. Overall, a very nice apartment, but terrible location and lacking some basic facilities.

  • "Flat very nice."

It should be pointed out in the listing that the steps to the mezzanine are steep and not suitable for anyone who isn't pretty fit. A small thing, as there is no dining space, it would be good for trays to be provided. Otherwise, it's a nice place and very well set out.

  • "The Old Institute has SO MUCH character."

As soon as we walked through the door we loved it. Spotless with everything we could possibly need on the doorstep. Parking wasn't a problem and the lovely people at the post office were so helpful. Ended up with takeaway on the Saturday night and the food from both restaurants were amazing! Would definitely stay again and recommend! Thank you.

About the location

MILNTHORPE

Arnside 3 miles; Silverdale 6 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

Milnthorpe, once an important medieval market town, is located in the South Lakes between Kendal and Carnforth, just a few miles from the seaside village of Arnside. Reminders of the town's history can still be found today amongst the narrow lanes and historic buildings, which speak of a time when a coach and four was more common than a four-wheel drive. Set in lovely rolling countryside, the area has much to offer, with the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis offering a tropical hall and butterfly house. Dallam Tower and Levens Hall (historic and beautiful stately homes with their deer parks, topiary and ornamental gardens) provide a great day out for visitors. Leighton Hall, Sizergh Castle, the Great Lakes Aquarium, Windermere and Grizedale Forest are also all within easy reach and well worth a visit. From stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks to beaches and scenic coastal paths, there really is something for everyone.
