“Tranquil, sumptuous jewel in a gorgeous setting.”

This is a remote, spacious, sumptuous and tranquil jewel. The decor and facilities are first class - every utensil, glass pot and pan you could need. The owner is so friendly and helpful and the little touches.... like a bottle of nice white wine in the fridge, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and various condiments - and even 2 home made scones with jam and butter to welcome you - all really make you feel at home. The setting and scenery is gorgeous too. Short trip to Kielder and to the shops and pubs ...

The Bower Cottages

Located in Kielder Water & Forest Park, known for its distinctive scenery, The Bower Cottages are right on the doorstep of fantastic walking, biking trails, water sports, horse riding and other adventure activities. The Northumberland International Dark Sky Park is definitely worth a visit where you can experience the best star-gazing in the country and even spot the Andromeda Galaxy – a vast island of stars very similar to our own Milky Way. There is also an abundance of wildlife for you to observe and explorers can expect to encounter roe deer, otters, red squirrels, seven species of bat and a variety of birds, including ospreys. Set in a stunning, remote area these two stone-built barn conversions are the perfect holiday base for a family or group of friends looking to explore in a peaceful environment. In a secluded location, Bellingham is the closest town, offering plenty of history within the architecture, as well as an array of shops, pubs, cafes and a golf course. Being on the doorstep of the Northumberland National Park you are well placed to explore the beautiful countryside. Further afield the popular tourist attractions of the Northumberland coast, Lindisfarne and Hadrian’s wall are all accessible and make for a great day out.
