  • "One of the best places we have ever stayed as a group of mix of adult and children (22)."

Extremely Cora and they have thought of providing all amenities. Very warm rooms despite it being an old building. We didn’t need any extra heating for children. Definitely recommended Owners very helpful and friendly.

  • "We had an amazing weekend with family and friends in a beautiful property."

The bedrooms are all great with en-suite facilities. We were really lucky with the weather and enjoyed a BBQ night in the garden followed by some music around the fire pit. Would definitely love to return in the future. The only improvement I feel that could be added is a big gas BBQ.

  • "The kitchen is a bit small for the amount of guests."

The hall was too good for sitting taking boots off, a boot/drying room would be big asset.

  • "We had a truly memorable week with our wonderful family to celebrate our Golden Wedding."

Horsley Hall was perfect. The co-owners were a delight to deal with, both helpful and efficient. Stanhope is a super village with great hardware, butchers and greengrocers shops to delight adults and stepping stones and fantastic playground to delight the children. We couldn't have asked for more.

The property was extremely comfortable and is surrounded by stunning scenery. The owner was very helpful and we would definitely recommend. We were a little surprised however to be charged £15 to have the tablecloths laundered.

  • "Horsley Hall was one of the most fabulous places we have ever stayed at!"

! we booked it for 10 couples to celebrate my 60th Birthday. We dealt with Liz who sorted out catering for us for the Saturday Night. The whole place, the views and the service we received from Angela and her staff was amazing. We were very lucky with the weather ad managed breakfast and many a G & T in the garden. Lots of great walks and places to visit nearby. We walked to Stanhope and visited Durham. We would have no hesitation in booking here again in fact can't wait to get it booked for next year!!! Definitely recommend Horsley Hall

  • "Horsley Hall is a luxurious, and stunning property."

Every part of the house was spotless and the photos online do not do this property justice especially with all of the fabulous original features. Liz & Derek we’re on hand to recommend local vendors which was a huge help. Zoe & Cheryl followed what was allowed when it came to decorating the house which we fully understood and it was done in a very tasteful manner without disrespecting such a stunning property. We booked Horsley Hall to begin celebrating my husbands 50th birthday ensuring my husbands surprise 50th was memorable for everyone and it more than achieved my expectations. Catering that was sourced & supplied was of a very high standard throughout our stay. This was from evening meals to breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for Liz and anything we needed was actioned with no complaints. Another big selling point is that every bedroom at Horsley Hall has an ensuite bathroom and again they were all spotless. We loved the fact all of our family were all under one roof which is rare as they live in different parts of the UK. Main event was the Saturday night formal dinner and the attention to detail Liz went to cannot be put into words but I’m am very grateful. As my idea was to re-create our wedding menu which was authentic punjabi food once again Liz & Derek sourced someone locally to help which was an excellent choice. Liz once again was on hand to supervise and step into a waitress role along with other staff members. This showed an extremely high work ethic and I cannot thank Liz & Derek enough. Without hesitation we will be back and I like to think we all respected the property and left it in the excellent condition it was handed over to us in. Everyone has said that it’s a weekend they will have fond memories of for a very long time which could not have been achieved without the help I received. They all stepped in to help clear up before leaving which I hope will have helped Liz with the cleanup ahead of new guests arriving. Thanks again to Liz & Derek and the next opportunity we have to get everyone together we will be back without hesitation.

  • "Weardale is a fabulous, unspoilt part of the UK to visit and Horsley Hall is a gem of a place as a base to explore it."

Our party of walkers stayed there in April for our annual away-week and we enjoyed it so much we’re desperate to go back. Angela and Liz made us feel very welcome, showed us the house then backed off letting us know they were always on call should we need assistance. Several of us remarked it was like staying in a luxury hotel without the annoyance of other guests and staff! There’s plenty of space for people to find a quiet spot to read yet has the layout and furnishings for a big group to get together and talk. Our party of fifteen takes turns to cater for the group and in this respect the commercial kitchen was a delight compared to what we have got used to in previous years. Cooking for a party of this size is easy when you’ve got the right kit. In summary this is the best venue we’ve ever stayed at as a group: facilities, quality of the rooms, space, value for money and, above all, fantastic views of the valley.
