  • "Really enjoyed our week in the Lakes at lakeside cottage in Ecclerigg."

Weather not too bad for this time of the year, we had no problems with the accommodation everything that we had hoped for, close to Lake Windermere and also able to cruise on the lake via the Brockhole pier. Plenty of excellent cafes and restaurants in the area for Lunch, dinners and afternoon teas. Hope to visit soon.

  • "The cottage wasn't as close to the lake as the pictures showed which was disappointing."

The sofas had seen better days. The bath filled up when having a shower. Pillows were hard. It was a lovely cottage but few things were disappointing which was a shame. It was also expensive which may stop us goining back in the summer to this cottage.

  • "The cottage was a home from home."

It was always nice and warm when getting back after our cold walks. Nicely set up and very convenient for travelling around the lakes. We love the lakes and would highly recommend.

  • "The house is in beautiful grounds and is an ideal little get away setting."

Extremely relaxing location and in a very well situated location in between Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside. During the summer months I should imagine the use of the lakeside decking area would be absolutely of benefit. It is difficult to imagine the distance of this decking from the house. When we first booked the description of the house led us to believe that this decking was situated directly to the front of the house. The lakeside decking is a short walk down what could be described as a driveway in beautiful surroundings. It is still extremely ideal and I highly recommend a stay. The house was very well equipped for cosy nights in during the autumn evenings.

  • "We loved the cottage, very friendly owners too and we thoroughly enjoyed the deck on the lake, we thought the cottage provided a perfect base for exploring the area and we would probably go there again."

BUT, we feel that the cottage was not accurately portrayed, it's proximity to the busy A591 provided constant traffic noise, we can understand why this was not mentioned but feel this is disingenuous. ALSO the cottage description gives the impression that the lake side deck is adjacent to the cottage whereas it is a 5 min walk away. This was a surprise to us but in the end not a problem but it could be for some people, so again this amounts to miss-selling by omission.

Thank you very much for your recent feedback! We pride ourselves on advertising with transparency and as such I have updated the description to reflect your feedback. Property Owner
