  • "What a brilliant home."

Everything about this place was quality. The location, the furnishings, the decoration, even the communication with the owners. Absolutely perfect setting for the full family to celebrate a birthday weekend together. Could not fault this booking at all. Bill texted exactly the right amount, offering advice & help if necessary & the house itself was immaculate. I cannot say enough good things about this weekend. Spending quality time with family was always going to be good but doing it here made it special. 10/10 recommended Fairfield to anyone!

  • "Truly genuine property owner!"

Thank you! We checked into the property and it was lovely, clean and everything was as described, simply we loved it! However , unexpectedly there was a sudden leak from one of the the bathrooms, as soon as I informed it, the property owner came within 10 minutes and took all possible measures to fix it! His efforts were awesome! In addition, he offered us an extra night stay for the inconvenience we faced! We did not expect such a good will gesture, but he was fair enough to offer it without any hesitation! The property location is amazing with access to excellent attractions, we recommend this property without any hesitation, this is simply an amazing holiday home! We wish all the best for the property owners and once again thank you very much for your amazing hosting!

The owner was keen to make sure we had everything we needed. It's a peaceful and beautiful area, away from the crowds. The small shop next door seems to sell nearly everything.

  • "First impressions as we entered the home, STUNNING."

. property was open, warm and welcoming and clean to the brim, facilities are perfect to keep us lads entertained and the family room/kitchen was situated perfectly for family meal get togethers. Views are great and nearby walks were fun, tricky to find the property to begin with but still a fun journey nonetheless.. The internet signal couldn't reach the further away rooms as phone network wasn’t coming through due to location but I supoosed it helped us focus on enjoying the getaway and Bill was handy when a issue arose which was sorted in minutes, would highly recommend.

Great house & location. Perfect for 8 adults, 4 children & 2 babies. Everything about the house worked for us. Comfy beds & sofas. A lovely place to relax & enjoy the views. Thanks Bill for sorting the highchair & travel cot. Plus checking we had everything we needed. Great to have the little post office near by for supplies. The Bower House Inn was great for a family meal and kids play area.

Thanks for that. The constructive comments you made have been acted on in full. Property Owner

  • "The house was wonderful."

The photos did not do it justice! The games room was loved by the whole family. The house was spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable. Slight hiccup with the heating was dealt with promptly by the owner, who was so helpful and genuinely cared about us enjoying our stay. Location was beautiful. We stayed Christmas week and it was a magical family time that we will remember. Highly recommended.

  • "The place was everything and more that my friends and I could have hoped for."

Even in the cold December, it made it a more picture perfect location with the snow. The home caters for all your needs and the location is great with a shop and pub nearby. House was extremely clean, plenty of parking in the driveway and there is so much space inside for a considerable amount of guests. The bedrooms are fantastic. The owner Bill was also a massive help and kept checking to see if there was anything he could do and provided great travel advice.

About the location

ESKDALE GREEN

Coniston 10 miles.

The small village of Eskdale Green sits amongst beautiful Lakeland countryside and consists of a scattering of cottages, some farm dwellings and a number of outstanding traditional English pubs serving good food. An area relatively unknown to many Lakeland visitors, this great location boasts a skyline dominated by the towering peaks of Scafell - England's highest peak, as well as Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell, whilst the nearby stunning valleys of Eskdale, Wasdale, Ennerdale and Dunnerdale provide breathtaking and ever-changing scenery to be enjoyed throughout the year. The valley is notable as being one of few major valleys in the Lake District not to have its own lake, although several tarns are perched above the valley sides. Local attractions include Muncaster Castle, the World Owl Centre and the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway, one of the most beautiful train journeys imaginable. With both beautiful Wastwater - the deepest lake in the country and St Olaf's - the smallest church, amongst the many well known landmarks in this awe inspiring and beautiful area also within easy reach, this stunning location will have visitors returning time and time again.

Please note that the property does not accept hen or stag type bookings.
