"Beautiful accommodation, equipped and fitted out to the highest standard."
Need a car but that’s pretty standard for the Lakes. Situated at the end of a single track road so absolutely no disturbance throughout the night. Only one problem, not sure if the bath was just for show as nothing came out of the taps. We still had a lovely time

"The cottage was beautiful and the attention to detail in decor and furnishings too."
We stayed in Bolton Cottage which was lovely. In the description it said it had a connecting door to the cottage next door for larger parties which I fully appreciate. However I did not expect it to be the thickness of a normal internal door where everything is heard even down to stirring a cup of tea or when the neighbours had a row. The description did not highlight the possibility of hearing conversations. The only let down is that the connecting door should be made more soundproof when it is not a larger party staying over the two cottages. I would love to stay in Bolton again as the back garden to this cottage was brill for our dog but I would be put off by the connecting door.

"Such a beautiful cottage finished to a very high specification."
Decoration and fittings were very high standard. Lovely rural location with plenty of space to explore with the dog, or adventuring out on the bike!. The views across the hills were great, and plenty of places to visit nearby. And we enjoyed using the courtyard to sit out with a nespresso coffee in the sun!! There were ongoing building works nearby, but these provided very little disruption (and we were made aware of this early in the booking). Recently-installed on-site EV charging was welcome, but massively overpriced, so limited use. Had a great break, and would love to come back again.

"Flakebridge Estate is absolutely stunning and so tranquil."
The cottages are absolutely beautiful and luxurious. The whole area is so well maintained and the cottages are immaculately clean. The beds are like sleeping on a cloud and having two bathrooms is a huge bonus. This is our second stay and we’re returning again in May next year. Can’t recommend highly enough. The town of Appleby is lovely and quaint with a lovely walk along the river and near to Rutter force waterfall. An hour from most of the main Lake District attractions. Low Howgill deli and butcher’s is a must visit and the Royal Oak pub does beautiful food and is super dog friendly. The crown and cushion is also lovely for an evening meal and breakfast and is also very dog friendly. Overall a fabulous stay.

"Bolton Cottage is furnished and finished to a very high specification and we were very happy to spend a 4 night stay there."
For those used to holiday lettings, this has to be amongst the very best. It forms part of a larger complex of accommodation units primarily designed for corporate events or, in the season, shooting parties. It sits in delightful scenery and lies around 2 miles from Appleby in splendid isolation along a narrow and winding country lane. The nearest pub, the Royal Oak is a longish walk but a short drive away and the restaurant is well worth a visit. A couple of negative points to raise - the fridge has no freezer unit so there is nowhere to store ice for drinks, and. unlike nearly all the holiday lets we have stayed in, there were no toiletries in the en-suite bathrooms, just hand wash. Small details, however. Bolton Cottage is ideal for a short, quiet country break and only an hours drive from the much more crowded Lake District.

"This holiday cottage is nothing short of genuine perfection, I have never stayed in such a beautifully designed and furnished cottage, it is hands down the best holiday accommodation I have ever seen."
The cottage was in a stunning location within a stunning private courtyard. Within the cottage itself the furnishing were faultlessly appointed, and the fixtures and even bathroom fixings were to die for, the bath was entirely next level. The owners of this property have impeccable and unparalleled interior design skills, I cannot wait to be back, and I assure you I will be back, most likely dragging family and friends along who I insist have to experience just how perfect the cottage was. My only criticism is that thanks to just how perfect the bathroom was I have now been instructed to refit my own bathroom at home to that same design, a task I fear is going to be rather expensive. Honestly this cottage is faultless in every respect, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough and will without question come back again and again.

"Our short stay in this property was very enjoyable."
The accommodation is superb with a very high standard of fixtures and fittings, including a fold-away sink and invisible hob - what a novelty. The courtyard setting is quiet (most suitable for adults) in peaceful countryside, yet easily accessible from Appleby and main roads. It's a great base for exploring the eastern area of the Lake District National Park. Highly recommended!
