There are lots of places to eat or get takeaways close by if you don’t want to cook. The property was extremely well kitted out with everything that you could wish for on a family vacation. We would definitely recommend this property and in the future would go back.

A warm welcome to a stunning, elegant house with all the comforts for a relaxing break and the ability to make you feel right at home. Decorated and furnished to a high standard with the comfiest of beds and spacious rooms. We wanted for nothing in terms of kitchen items. The dressing gowns, hairdryers and straightners were an added bonus! Would happily and highly recommend The Arthouse and would most definitely visit again. Thankyou for sharing your property.

The property is BEAUTIFUL and tastefully decorated throughout, right down to the small bedroom. Immaculately cared for, with a high level of cleaning. Very generous amounts of essentials provided, ie loo roll, kitchen roll, dishwasher tabs. laundry/fabric supplies, tablet soap and liquid soap/body wash etc. etc. We also found bath robes in every bedroom, along with gorgeous Egyptian linens on the beds and fluffy cotton towels that are a decent size. The kitchen is very well catered for and Colin and John have thought of everything you might need whilst away enjoying the Lakes. The lockable garage was a bonus for our e-bikes and expensive road bikes and also has a small gym located in it (weights and bench) The location is brilliant, so easy to get to most of the Lakes from the front door and lovely to walk to the pub a few yards away and into Ambleside, ten minutes away. There are also a number of fine dining opportunities, within a 10-20 minute taxi ride. All in all, it was a fantastic holiday and we have come away with some wonderful memories. Thank you.

Immaculately clean and tidy, and with absolutely everything you need. The beds, linen and towels are of a very high quality. The kitchen was really big and had everything you needed from cutlery, to tea towels, cleaning essentials and pots, pans etc Really excellent check in from the owner, which really helped us to settle in quickly. Great location right next to the lake, with only a 10 minute walk to Ambleside town. We would highly recommend this house!

This truly unique four-bedroom holiday home can be found resting just a short stroll from picturesque Waterhead, which sits at the head of beautiful Lake Windermere in the Lake District National Park.
The owner, a well-known artist, has carefully created a sophisticated and luxurious retreat that exudes elegance, yet at the same time provides a warm and welcoming holiday experience from which to explore Ambleside and beyond with friends and family.
Walk into your large and opulent open-plan living space and note the natural light flooding into this magnificent, dual aspect room.
You are bound to be lured to the expansive glass doors that lead onto your south-west facing patio with a feature fountain taking centre stage, making the perfect place to unwind after a busy day of exploring.
Relax on your sumptuous leather sofa and cosy up before your welcoming living flame gas fire, neatly inset and remote controlled, where you can listen to your favourite music or browse the web on your 60” Smart TV.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force.
