    This is a truly superbly appointed property, the finish and furnishings cannot be faulted. However, it’s pushing the boundaries to describe it as a “wing” of a house when it’s an end terrace. We were very disappointed that the patio area had so little privacy. The fence was latticed and we had view of the people next door and all their daily washing.     This is a truly superbly appointed property, the finish and furnishings cannot be faulted. However, it’s pushing the boundaries to describe it as a “wing” of a house when it’s an end terrace. We were very disappointed that the patio area had so little privacy. The fence was latticed and we had view of the people next door and all their daily washing. It also prevented us from dining outside because our conversation would be overheard so freedom of speech was limited. The riding establishment on the left side has two dogs which drove us inside one afternoon with their incessant barking. If you’re going to travel out everyday, none of the above is a problem but we were hoping for a lazy and relaxed holiday, sitting in the sun drinking, dining and chatting. The complete lack of privacy in the patio area prevented this, a disappointment.

Outside this quality Gargrave cottage is a small courtyard area, ideal for sitting out and enjoying drinks with family and friends whilst relaxing after a long day exploring the beautiful Dales countryside.

The village of Gargrave offers good amenities, including shops, pubs, village greens and river and canalside walks, as well as access to the Settle-Carlisle railway line.

The market towns of Skipton and Malham, with its limestone scenery, are both close by and well worth a visit, and for lovers of the great outdoors, the area offers an abundance of walking trails, as well as the famous Three Peaks for those wishing for something a little more challenging.

A pretty village on the banks of the River Aire, around 7 miles from Malham, with its spectacular limestone cove and scar. In the village you will find a selection of places to eat including a fantastic Indian restaurant, along with a small selection of pubs, cafes and shops. Traversed by the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, cycle route 68 and the Pennine Way, Gargrave is a fantastic base for exploring this part of Yorkshire. Four miles away is the ancient market town of Skipton — “The Gateway to the Dales” — with its historic castle and celebrated high street. On the border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this is an ideal location for walking, cycling and touring.
