  • "A lovely property in a beautiful location."

We had a fantastic stay and the property provided everything we needed. We definitely made the most of the hot tub, sauna and village pubs. Great location, just under 2hrs walk along the canal into Skipton and with other great walks on your doorstep. We also visited Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, just over half an hours drive away and Malham only 20 minutes drive away. Would recommend The Masons Arms pub for Sunday roast!

  • "What a fabulous house in a lovely location - the views and access to wonderful places."

We loved the location of the house, the style of the house, the standard of design and facilities such as hot tub/sauna and kitchen, were all great. The hosts were very friendly and communications were top drawer. But, we must admit that the beds were really uncomfortable. Set up as a double didn't work as the individual beds had sunk so badly, and the springs were ever-present - even as a single. The connecting zip became a barrier to be together and very uncomfortable. Also, in all the airBnBs we've stayed in, the leaving requirements were by far the most comprehensive. Strip beds and put in a sack, empty bins, empty dishwasher and put everything away, clean down. All before 10AM departure. I was left wondering what the 'cleaning service' actually did. The wine and chocolates were really appreciated, but no spare toilet rolls, no shower/bath products for the beautiful baths and showers was a shame.

Although our guests have always said the beds are very comfortable we have now added a thick super kingsize mattress topper which I feel resolves the problem of the central zip and definitely gives even more comfort. In response to the fact that we ask guests to have a basic tidy up after themselves before the cleaners arrive I'm certain is standard and most guests are respectfull enough to accept this in self catering accommodation. The 10am check out is to give us enough time to clean the property to a high standard ready for the next guests, change water in hot tub etc, which unfortunately we can not compromise on. The location and facilities of this property are just what the Dr ordered!. We’ve walked & explored the wider areas and eaten in the village every evening, somewhere different each time and all exceptional - glad we found The Masons Arms. The hot tub and sauna were wonderful. The maintenance of the property is generally very good, although there’s a few small things that need a bit of attention before they tire further and to ensure the luxurious feel is maintained. Thank you for our stay, we would definitely return.

Superb hot tub / sauna. Marked the "accuracy" mark down a notch because: a) "lock view" is only accurate if one leans out of the Juliet balcony - otherwise "coal tip view" is regrettably more accurate b) Gargrave is indeed a beautiful old village. But Lock view cottage is well north of the village, north indeed of the not-at-all attractive ex Council estate.

The property had all you needed for a weeks stay . The hot tub and sauna was great . You could walk out the front door and go for nice walks along the canal . It was also a small walk in to Gargrave village , with nice places to eat and drink, just One small bad thing about the walk to the village was if you came back to the cottage late, when it was dark, when you got closer to the cottage it got really dark . Needs a bit more lighting on the pathway leading up to the cottage . But all in all great place to stay and would recommend a stay here.

Was met on arrival and shown round the property, which is a nice touch. Hot tub was lovely but as the weather was so hot we didn't use the Sauna! Tried both village pubs which served lovely food and were very friendly. A couple of suggested improvements would be new pillows a must as they were so thin and not fitting the pillow cases, bigger towels and some chopping boards for the kitchen as there is only the glass counter top one to use for all food prep. Only thing I would say is turning the hot tub off at 8pm is abit early, especially families with children who want to enjoy abit more time in the evenings but also have to do bedtime. So our time was cut short in the hot tub as our little boy goes to bed between 7 and 8. Even until 9/10pm as I feel this wouldn’t disturb too many people.. but lovely cottage and couldn’t fault anything.

Cottage was very comfortable and the facilities were great. Our only grumble is we only had 1 towel each so it was a bit of a problem when using the hot tub/sauna and then having showers! We would have liked 2 towels and maybe bigger ones too!! In the past when we have stayed in lodges or cottages we have had 2 towels or a towel and a bathrobe. Your terms stated bring beach and tea towels and so we assumed there would be towels for the hot tub. We will definitely book with you again.

The facilities are amazing and the location is great, on the canal! Do not let the housing estate you arrive through put you off. Amazing to have a coffee machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer etc - these were extras I didnt see advertised which made the stay extra comfortable. We loved the sauna and hot tub! Our friends who slept downstairs did mention the curtains let in quite a lot of light in the morning but we didn't have this issue upstairs. We visited Malham cove and that area, where we walked the loop of 5.1 miles which was beautiful. Be careful of the stairs though, I would recommend going the loop from Janet foss to malham cove rather than the other way around so you are gong down steps rather than up them, you'll also have to be very mobile, saying that i'm 8.5 months pregnant and managed. Keelham farm shop ( 5 min drive away) is so worth a visit, for a farm shop its very reasonable. Also Skipton woods was awesome. We met Kyle and his dad, they were both lovely and friendly. Not cheap, but we felt well worth the money, Thanks again Victoria
