  • "The property was immaculate with everything needed only issue was not having direct access to the hot tub from the property However unfortunately we booked this as it was advertised as all ground floor accommodation perfect for a romantic getaway it was in reality a ground floor flat with the upstairs occupied by a couple and a small child."

The noise created was unacceptable, screaming and running around with no consideration given to anyone else This was hardly relaxing for us and definitely not a romantic getaway accommodation.

Thank you for your feedback and informing us there was a child staying. We are sorry to hear that your romantic getaway was not as relaxing as expected. We were not informed by the guest staying in Lake View on their booking that they were bringing a child and the apartments are for two adults only. We hope you return in the future, if not to stay at one of the apartments, to stay in one of the boathouses, which are considered as romantic getaways over Lake Windermere. The hot tub was an amazing addition. My fiance and I loved every inch of it. Despite construction work going on next door, it didn't spoil how peaceful and tranquil overlooking the lake was. The house is perfectly located, just far enough away from the busy towns but close enough to enjoy everything. One tiny piece of advice is maybe for people with allergies to maybe mention in the listing that the bedding is goose down for those with allergies which my fiance did but nothing major at all.Thank you for everything

  • "Forgot how uncomfortable the sofa was, the pillows on bed too soft and thin, I did complain to a man at the office about a second car parking in front of window blocking the lake view as this was an issue last time we stayed, and did not get a great response, very unprofessional attitude."

Thank you for your feedback. We do hope you enjoyed your stay despite the issues you mentioned. The sofa was purchased for its quality, durability and firmness. I have been informed it does soften over time - although I do not know how long it takes. We offer two pillow grades - soft and medium. I will speak with house keeping. The car park in front of the property is designated for the two apartments and caters for two cars so I am not sure why a car was parked in front of the window. We were not informed of this during your stay so thank you for bringing it to our attention. I hope you choose to stay with us again. If you have no mobility issues, perhaps the apartment above, Lake View, would be more to your liking. Kind regards, The Louper Weir Family Property Owner

  • "Overall another good stay."

Good location to retreat back too and nice views. Overall pictures shown are exactly what you get and this is our second stay here now. A few niggles that need addressing - frying pan severely burnt - couldn’t/ didn’t want to use it, needs replacing. - mould by front door needs addressing as I got some of it on my trousers when entering the building, obviously a damp issue near the window/door as water on windowsill as well. - 2 tiles in the entry porch are loose and need taking up and refixing. - cleaning store is right next to the property, so the cleaner was there, the hot tub people were there and the groundsman were there at various times in the morning which was a little annoying as it wasn’t discreet and ruined the atmosphere of the place most mornings. The people however very lovely and friendly but just the cars parked right outside, the backwards and forwards of the gates and level of noise was a pain point. Suggestions - we couldn’t use underfloor heating or more didn’t no how to perhaps better instructions for this one. - a parasol needed for hot tub area, can feel very overlooked but also a few days it was super sunny and would have been nice to sit and read a book up there. Thanks for a good stay.

Thank you for returning to Lower Lake View and for your feedback. We are happy you had a good stay and we are working off your comments so that we can make it an excellent stay. We replaced the burnt frying pan and we have installed a dehumidifier in the utility room to remove excess moisture. Thank you for notifying us of the loose tiles. We are waiting to hear back from maintenance for when they can be refixed. The property has privacy glass so no one can see into the rooms, and the staff are aware they are to be discreet at all times when near the apartments. Apologies, if this was not the case during your stay. There had been a storm the weekend you arrived and the staff were busy clearing the grounds of debris and bringing the external areas back up to standard. The underfloor heating turns on if the temperature falls below 21 degrees. The temperature in the property can be increased manually by up to 5 degrees by pressing the positive symbol on the thermostat. Each press increases the temperature by 1 degree and is indicated by the green light moving to the right. Decreasing the temperature can be done up to 5 degrees by pressing the negative symbol on the thermostat. Each press decreasing the temperature by one degree and is indicated by the green light moving left. Unfortunately, we are unable to put a parasol up on the terrace due to the strong winds that can be experienced in that area. We do look forward to welcoming you back to Louper Weir, if not at Lower Lake View, at one of our other stunning properties on the development. The Louper Weir Family. Property Owner

  • "This was & is a fabulous place to stay."

Such a great location, beautiful property & absolutely spotless, we have just had a week here & thoroughly enjoyed the break. However, there are a few points that need to be upgraded & actioned. I myself do not complain whilst I am actually there & comment later. I am aware that things could be rectified whilst there but I think it should have been top notch anyway. On previous occasions people have noted comments etc & things after haven't been improved & they definitely should be listened to, actioned & completed. Here are our notes & recommendations for immediate action necessary. No comeback to the on site cleaners at all, they definitely cleaned this accommodation thoroughly. The Owners & Holiday company should action these recommendations immediately. 1. On approach, Louper Weir should definitely be lit up, previously noted on many occasions & not actioned. 2. Light near door entrance as you can't see door key hole & step down into utility room. 3. New battery on dyson handheld as it doesn't charge any longer. 4. Dyson fan is useless, can I recommend Meaco fans, these are more efficient & effective. Previously noted & not actioned. 5. For such a top spec apartment the new luxury sofa is actually so very uncomfortable to sit on & relax. It is so soft & stupid shape. We have crooked our necks & backs trying to sit correctly & are going for osteopath treatment after now returning home. Again, previously noted & not actioned. 6. Having electric blackout blinds are a great touch, curtain furnishings are needed as there are people & cars around all the time & the blinds need to be closed to have privacy then this leaves you being in the dark all day. This has been noted on many occasions & not actioned. 7. The bed needs to be replaced to a divan & king size duvet to go with the bed & not a double on a king size. The pillows are terrible, this is where we have crooked necks from. So so uncomfortable & once again many people have commented & no action been taken at all 8. The dining table is actually outdoor furniture as I have these myself. However, the seats are so uncomfortable & definitely needs to be soft furnished chairs. Never used the Hot tub as it was too far from the property & badly lit. For such a top spec beautiful place these changes need to be made as it isn't cheap to stay. The cleaners seemed to be around all day but never came in to do anything, never met them until leaving, however it was spotless on arrival.

Dear guest, We are pleased you had an enjoyable stay and thank you for your feedback. I will respond to your comments as best I can. Louper Weir is located in a UNESCO site and next to Lake Windermere. Lights along and in the surrounding areas of the lake are limited at night due to preserving the natural enviroment for the local wildlife. On the property we are able to use appropriate downlighting as efficiently and effectively as possible. The Dyson vacuum has been replaced and we use Dyson in general for their after care and ability to obtain spare parts easily. The sofa has been reconfigured - one side is for a lounging position and the other is for normal sitting. The windows have privacy glass so there is no need to leave the blinds down all day. Leaving the blinds down encourages condensation to collect behind and water to pool on the window sills causing water damage and mould to build up. We have installed extra dehumidifiers to control the moisture levels and reduce the amount of condensation build up. We provide two different grades of feather pillow - soft and medium. If they become too flat they are replaced. The housekeeping team are happy to help with requests you may have and are around tending to various areas on the development should you require any assistance. The Louper Weir Team. Property Owner

  • "Good points: Location is 2nd to none."

Travelled all over the UK staying in similar types of property, lake windemere is up there with the best of them. The property is clean, had everything we needed for what we hoped would be a relaxing stay. The complaints about the fan are ridiculous, there is a tablet next to it with the Dyson app on it or you download it to your smart phone. Very reasonable price for what you get in return. Bad points: Arrived 15 minutes early to pick up the keys after a 7 hour drive up from the south east and was made to feel like we were asking for an extra day for free....... not a great start. Even offered to sit outside for 15 minutes. Get any ideas out of your head about being able to stay at the property and relax. The cleaner and hottub maintenance chap seem to be always at the property. There are lovely floor to ceiling electric blinds which when opened give you a fantastic view. Unfortunately we had to leave them closed to try and retain some privacy. My partner didnt really want to use the hottub as its checked every single day which seems ridiculous. She didnt want to be sat in there with some stranger just walking in. This is the only place we've stayed at in the UK with a hottub that has done this and seems obsessive. Likewise the cleaner seemed to be there every single day we were. This may not have been the case but again, its a self catering property, seems ridiculous that the cleaner is there so much. After the first night we were emailed and asked to give a "First night review" which I marked as adequate because of the privacy issues. I then had to email the office to tell them to leave us alone because we started getting phone calls and emails because of the adequate rating. Certainly won't be coming back to this property. Its not the first time we have used Sykes and had no issues at the last place we stayed at at all.

The hot tub was not hot on the day of our arrival which is really disappointing especially as is a luxury stay. It also hadn’t heated up by the night time meaning we couldn’t use it on the night either, so we only managed to have a hot tub for 2/3 of our stay. The hot tub was great and it was really handy having a coffee machine. I put 3/4 for “comfort” because the heated flooring didn’t seem to work, the tiles were cold. Perhaps I operated the thermostat wrong but the instructions referred to a dial but there was a panel with buttons, so just guessed what I had to do. The pillows were way too soft, when you lay your head on them they squash down to almost nothing. We could have done with some basic supplies such as sugar, oil, butter and teabags. Other than those fairly minor points this was an amazing place to stay, thank you!

Love the hot tub, but cover can be a little heavy to replace if only one person ( my wife is disabled, so unfortunately can't assist!). But that's a minor point. Secure parking and electric charging facilities a plus, as we have a hybrid car. All in all, somewhere to unwind and recharge if life is hectic. After searching for hours for the perfect cottage in Windermere, non of the others came close to the Lower Lake View. I had my eyes set on this throughout my whole search. The only thing that would have set us back would be the price as it was a lot more than the others we saw. However, I am so so SO glad we picked this one! You 100% get what you pay for and this cottage was by far my favourite get away. Everything about it was so beautiful! The fact that it was in a little secluded area which required the keys to get through the gates, the private parking, the facilities inside the cottage such as utility room, fully loaded kitchen, two bathrooms, two smart TV’s - my list could go on! It has everything included which is listed in the accommodation details so is literally what it says on the packet. BUT, the one thing it did not mention, is the absolutely beautiful sunset view of the lake we watched every night from the hot tub on the terrace of our cottage. It truly was a dream. This cottage exceeded our expectations by far and made our wind down time for our minimoon a beautiful one. The customer service was absolutely spot on, the staff at the office made our key collection quick and easy, they had given us a courtesy call after our first night to check up on us, the caretaker was so sweet and bubbly when speaking to us at the end of our stay about how it was and even the cleaner of the hot tub we bumped into was lovely! The apartment is very modern and was very clean. We loved sitting at the breakfast bar looking at the view of the lake and trees in the morning. It is very spacious for a couple. Every appliance for cooking was available, was very well equipped. The hot tub is really good. We loved going up there and relaxing, again taking in the views. We would love to stay here again and would recommend for anybody wanting a stay with a little bit of luxury.

  • "There is no sound proofing from the flat above."

We heard every conversation they had. Their toilet flush went straight down our bedroom wall keeping us awake or waking us up. The place was superb otherwise but lack of sound proofing would prevent us rebooking.

  • "Unfortunatley on the last morning there was no hot water."

Tgere was some sort of power cut the previous night where the tv, dishwasher, internet and other things went off. The following morning I got in the shower and waited and waited for it to warm but it never did. I did also try the tap at the sink but again no hot water.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear there was a power cut. The local office is available for any issues should they arise again. Property Owner

  • "There were quite a few builders around doing work on another property so at times felt abit like a building site that you were staying on also lost abit of privacy due to work men parking outside the cottage."

Would have been better if we were told about the construction work that was going on beforehand. Furthermore there were cigarette buts and champagne cages littered down the side of the hot tub which was disappointing to see especially considering how clean the rest of the cottage was!

  • "Fantastically high specced place."

The place was immaculately clean and finished to a high standard. There was a lack of sugar so something to bear in mind. The hot tub location was fantastic but it could use a glass wall to make the most of the view. Overall a joy to have stayed and the views from the kitchen and bedroom made it worth it. The staff on site were brilliant and engaging.
