The property

Near to the River Ribble, on the fringes of the Yorkshire Dales, lies this lovely end of terrace stone cottage,Stoneycroft, in the quaint village of Giggleswick.

You'll be delighted with the pretty decoration and traditional feel of this property, renovated to a modern standard whilst keeping the authenticity, perfect for a couple's romantic retreat.

You can get the open fire going, set within a beautiful large original stone hearth in the sitting room on those colder winter days, settle on the sofas in front of a film and relax in this splendid room, complete with exposed stone feature wall and fairy lights to add a special sparkle.

The under-floor heated slate flooring will take you into the gorgeous open-plan kitchen and dining room, hosting a farmhouse-style dining table with bench seating while the kitchen is a haven for culinary enthusiasts with the large double oven and five ring gas hob, all underneath the exposed wooden beams above.

Sit at the window seat with a good book on a rainy day, or if you can't get away from the office completely it can come with you, with a study tucked behind the sitting room for when you need a morning of answering those important emails.

Up the stairs to the first floor will bring you to the two double rooms, with the master bedroom having windows on both sides of the room, one looking out to views over the peaceful churchyard, and adorned in delightful ornaments and decor.

Switch the fairy lights on and set some time aside to spend soaking in the bath tub in the calming bathroom, which also has a separate walk-in shower, for those mornings when you need to be up and out.

The property also benefits from a third bedroom which contains a sofa-bed to allow for more flexible sleeping arrangements if needed, or use as a snug for another place to wind-down and relax.

To the outside there is a small patio area at the back which gets the evening sun, so you can sit out on the table and chairs with a glass of wine, with on-road parking just opposite.

Stroll up the lane and pop over to the local pub, Harts Head, for some delicious food and drinks, and afterwards carry on further down to towards Settle to stroll along the River Ribble as the sun goes down over the dales.

The larger neighbouring village of Settle is an old market town and has lots to offer in the way of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, and is surrounded by limestone landscape full of meadows, peaks, waterfalls and sheep!

Of course being right next to the vast Yorkshire Dales National Park you have to head out for some walking, no matter what your experience there are planned routes for beginners and avid walkers, or maybe hire some bikes see as much of the stunning scenery as possible!

Once you've stayed at Stoneycroft, you will have difficulty tearing yourself away from this beautiful cottage with its great location and charming features.

About the location

Settle 1 mile; Malham 6 miles; Skipton 16 miles.

This delightful Ribblesdale village lies below a limestone scar (part of the Craven fault) and just across the river from the bustling market town of Settle. It’s an incredibly pretty place with sturdy houses and cottages, many dating back to the 17th century as the ‘date stones’ over their doorways will confirm. Today the village is still centred around the beautiful St Alkelda’s church, which dates back to the 12th century and the well-known landmark of the domed chapel at the famous Giggleswick School, which dominates the village skyline. Giggleswick itself has two pubs, whilst the wide ranging amenities of the nearby market town of Settle are within easy walking distance. Further afield is the town of Ingleton with its splendid waterfall walk and of course (for the serious walker) the Three Peaks are nearby.
