"The property is ideally situated at the end of a no through lane (except for 1 farm) & is very central for touring The Lakes."
When choosing our holiday property one of our "must haves" is a king size bed or larger, the description said king size, however when we saw the bed, it was a standard double. My husband is over 6ft & I like plenty of room so our first couple nights were not the best, but we adjusted eventually, the bed was also a little soft for our liking, but that is a mater of preference. 2 small things that could easily be amended is there was only 1 hand towel in the bathroom & no bath mat (we've always had 2 hand towels & a bath mat wherever we've stayed) so that addition would be much better. Neither the wash basin or the kitchen sink held water as the plugs leaked, there was also no washing up bowl, we ate out mostly so we managed. The shower didn't drain very well either. Whoever designed the kitchen did an excellent job, everything you could need (except a washing up bowl) was there & in such a small space. My husband is a very good driver & could reverse into the car port, I would imagine many drivers would park outside (I would have), it wouldn't hurt to mention that to park in the car port is a little difficult. Generally we would recommend the property, but for us it could do with a few improvements as mentioned. A note for Lakelovers also, before our holiday we wanted to ask a couple questions of the owners that weren't available online or within our account (nothing out of the ordinary), but we were ignored, nobody even tried to help, not good customer service!

"We love this property, hence our 3rd stay."
Location is fabulous, so many walks from the doorstep, you won’t need your car. The village shops are stocked well, the local cafes serving up very good food. The only problem they have currently is lack of staff. The cottage is very spacious with a large utility/garage great for dogs and storage. Kitchen is well equipped, large shower room, huge bedroom with a handy bath after a long walk. Lovely rear garden cobbled garden overlooking the beck. We did have a couple of issues this time, we were only left 1 towel, Lakelovers sorted this straight away. We were saddened to see how dusty and cobwebby the whole place was, simple things that could be sorted in minutes, like lamp shade and skylights. The stairs had clumps of hair and dust in the corners and the bedroom was filthy with again clumps of dust and hair. We sorted this problem in ten minutes. I must add linen, kitchen and bathroom were clean. All floors could do with a good deep clean. Lakelovers addressed our concerns as we sent the pictures to them, and offered to come and do a re clean. We must say this hasn’t affected our holiday and would book again with Lakelovers, but with quite steep price rises and having access to properties later in the day, you would expect a decent standard of cleaning.

"This is a beautiful cottage for 2 and your dogs if you wish."
Location is in the door steps of the most beautiful walks, high or low and along the side of a stream with lots of wildlife. The property has everything you need and is very comfortable and the roll top bath is just what you need after a long day of walking. The room to the side of the living room is a great space for wet and muddy walking cloths and boots but I am very happy to say we had a full week of glorious warm March weather. We would definitely book again.

"This was our honeymoon and it was a perfect property in a beautiful location."
The gift of chocolate and Prosecco was so very kind. The facilities were outstanding, The garage area/drying area is an amazing addition which takes the stress totally out of getting clothes and dogs dry before entering the property.
The cottage was warm and the settings were perfect to make it very cosy. Along with the log burner it made the evenings lovely.
Everything about the accommodation was perfect and we will definitely return in the future.
Thank you!

"The cottage itself is every bit as lovely as the pictures show, what the pictures don't show is the setting of the cottage."
It is right by beck with an abundance of wildlife attracted right outside the window, in particular having 3 red squirrels regularly visit every morning & evening was very special. The variety of birds attracted to the feeders was a real joy, if we hadn't been out walking all day every day it would have been very easy to stay entertained simply watching the birds & red squirrels. The location for walking is about as good as it gets, plenty of high fells can be reached from the doorstep and if the high fells are too strenuous there are some beautiful valley walks or even walks across the passes to other locations. If you enjoy a romantic cottage for two, wildlife and of course all the mountain walking you could wish for in a holiday break then you really wont be disappointed. We've had more than a dozen cottage stays in Cumbria, and are always very picky about where we stay, this is definitely in the top 3 and could even be number 1. The cottage itself has all that 2 people could need & we particularly liked the very large space for storing & drying muddy boots & clothing. We had pushed our holiday back by 12 months due to covid, this stay was exactly the antidote needed after the year we've all been through - just totally loved it.

"The cottage is in an idyllic location just off the beaten track but easily accessible to Ullswater Lake, the steamers, local pub and mini market in moments."
All fixtures and fittings are of high quality. The brook runs at the back of the cottage and is not fenced in so beware if you have an adventurous dog! The only thing I would have liked was a sun longer or portable hammock to lie in and listen to the babbling brook. Lots of walks for all abilities within minutes from the cottage and a short drive to other lakes and towns.

"The Piggery is a lovely property."
The owners have gone out of their way to try and make this a boutique experience. The piggery is well located near to everything. We took our dog and the space provided was excellent and catered for everything we wanted. I would have no hesitation recommending this cottage to anyone.
Many thanks to the owners who brought us an outside log burner while we were there.

"Thank you so much we’ve had an amazing time here at The Piggery."
We’ve stayed at many cottages in the UK and this is by far the most stunning, well equipped and cosy property we have ever visited. Blue the Staffy also were much enjoyed paddling in the beck too.
