Beautiful property and wonderful facilities. Myself and my partner had our first xmas away here and it was everything we wished for. They even put a xmas tree up. We had a bit of trouble trying to connect to netflix and such to see our xmas films but all in all a perfect experience.

Hello, thank you for the feedback - I am so sorry you experienced difficulty parking. There is a space directly outside the cottage which is purely for the cottage and should be available for you at all times. Farm house tucked away off a country lane. Garden has a waterfall and pond with seating area. We found the cottage spotlessly clean. There is a big utility room, a study area under the stairs which is set up really well for planning walking routes. Large open plan kitchen/dining/lounge with wood burner. Bedroom and bathroom on first floor. Really comfortable bed it was so lovely I have literally been searching to find one online. The owner has incorporated authentic features from the original farm building. This gives you the feeling of stepping back in time. But with everything you need for 21st century holidaying.

  • "Goal Cottage is absolutely perfect in every way!"

It is extremely well equipped, particularly in the kitchen, which is where some rental properties leave much to be desired. Everything a cook needs is there and more - Sabatier knives, good quality cutlery, tasteful crockery and plentiful pans and utensils. The bed is very soft but actually extremely comfortable and the bathroom towels are large (bath sheets), thick and fluffy. None of those postage stamp sized thin, rough efforts! The living room is spacious with a comfortable, good-sized sofa and is very tastefully decorated. We loved the use of the original beams everywhere too! Outside there is a large, peaceful garden where we were regularly visited by roe deer, hare, rabbits, pheasants and also moorhens on the pond. There is a raised, decked area at the top of the garden where one can enjoy a glass or two while looking out over glorious countryside. As for David, our host, he was charming and most hospitable and helpful. We were particularly interested to hear about his own splendid barn conversion to which the cottage is attached. Anyone who would like to visit the Yorkshire Dales could do no better than to stay at Goal Cottage.

About the location

HELLIFIELD

Settle 6 miles; Skipton 9 miles.

The village of Hellifield lies between Settle and Skipton at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's a thriving, small community with a local pub, scattering of small shops, a renowned butcher's and historic railway station. The village nestles amongst the most picturesque rolling countryside, beside the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain - a region of scars, cliffs, caves and potholes. Hellifield grew as an important agricultural centre, where the moorlands of the Dales meet the pasturelands of the Ribble Valley, and boasted one of the most important livestock markets in the North of England for many years. It later developed into a railway centre and the famous Settle-Carlisle Railway crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. Natural attractions such as Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within easy reach, as are the nearby Dales towns of Skipton and Malham. Hellifield is in the midst of excellent walking country and is a good base for touring the Dales, the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland.

Please note: 7 night, weekly bookings only are taken at the property.
