"This is our third family holiday at Church View and once again it has been enjoyed by all the family, from the 15 year olds to the nearly eighty year olds."
The accommodation is clean and well presented and the town location makes it convenient for any shopping, with the added bonus of a nearby (walking distance) railway station. The Lake District is only a short drive away with good road access. The provision of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, and biscuits is very useful upon arrival.

"The location is absolutely fabulous and the Size of the apartment was perfect."
Beds really comfortable but that's where the good report ends. At the entrance to the property your met with a lot of cigarette ends which doesn't give a good impression. The carpets look like they have not been cleaned in a while. We had to take a drawer out of the freezer because there was such a big build up of ice the door wouldn't shut. The oven was filthy. For a party of 7 we could only find 4 cups. The ensuite bathroom the sink doesn't drain properly and the shower looses all pressure if someone uses water in another part of the house. The patio outside was overgrown and had empty beer bottles in. One of the chairs was broke so that left only 3. Your pictures show a bench that's obviously disappeared. Overall very disappointed with the cleanliness
Mrs Ostiadel, thank you for your feedback, we were so sorry to hear how you found our lovely property when you arrived. The things you have described are not how Church View is usually as we employ a cleaning and maintenance company who are on call 24/7 for to keep our property in the best condition possible. The issues you encountered are clearly a mortifying oversight on their part which we have raised with them. Their details are in the welcome pack you would have found on your arrival, where we encourage our guests to contact them if they have any problems. Having checked with the booking agent and with the cleaning company, they have confirmed that you did not contact either of them during your stay. Had you done so I can assure you these issues would have been rectified swiftly. We can only apologise for how you found it when you arrived, and hope that you will choose Church View in the future to see it at it's best.

"This is an excellent holiday cottage, with plenty of space for a large group, and is well located in the centre of Grange-over-Sands."
Within walking distance there are two supermarkets as well as a variety of local shops and a number of pubs. The food in the Commodore is very good. The South lakes are within an easy drive and the railway station is only 10 minutes walk away.

"The property was large, clean and in a great location but there were few issues, nothing major but could be improved upon;
1) The window in the kitchen woukd not stay open and gets very hot in there, even when not cooking."
.. we didn't attempt to cook.
2) The shower head in the bathroom on the first floor wouldn't stay up, it would slide down meaning you had to hold the head to use it -- impossible for 2 of our party as they have trouble raising their arms and/ or keeping raised for long periods.
3) The little road into the courtyard to park is quite narrow, and a tight fit for a MPV 7 seater.
The shop below also has a sign outside which displays their deals which is always placed in the way of the road into the courtyard, forcing you to get out and moving it... only to get put back later on.
Cars also park on the opposite side of the road making it hard to get into the courtyard no matter what direction you use to get into it (we always came from the Tesco Express direction, as it was slightly easier).
There are road markers to keep the section clear but is so worn, it's understandable for people not to see it.
These are the main issues, it's nothing major, just something to consider. It's still a great property in an amazing location just a few miles from Cartmel and less than 15 to Kendal.

"The house is beautiful, very clean and tastefully furnished."
It's proximity to amenities is excellent however this was also a downside. Deliveries for the local small supermarkets, and the bargain booze the house is located above, started around 6.45am on both Saturday & Sunday . This wasn't a much of an issue for those who slept on the top floor but for the unfortunate ones on the first floor it meant very two very early starts to the day.
The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything you would need for a holiday. With 10 adults staying it would have been nice to have 3rd shower over the bath possibly.
We had a wonderful stay, spending time in both Grange and making the walk over the hill to Cartmel. We will definitely return to the area.

"Church View is situated in the Center of a traditional shopping street in the seaside town of Grange over Sands."
Easily reached by rail, bus and private car (parking for two on site.) this town is a delight.
The house is roomy, light, comfy and has a calming ambience. The jacuzzi bath is a must after a day on Hampsfell and over into Cartmel Village. Holker Hall and gardens are a sheer delight and a day out in itself. A day on Windermere sailing to Ambleside on the steamer is easily doable too.
After a good nights sleep, an awakening power shower, we sat around the table having fresh bread and award winning local breakfast produce whilst deciding the delicious evening menu and easily sourcing the local products from the shops across the road. Or tasty fish and chips from the chippy.
After a day in the fresh air and a tasty pub lunch we enjoy a delicious meal around the dining table in the well equipped kitchen, after a jacuzzi bath, choosing our next excursion before retiring to the comfy lounge for a few drinks a good few laughs and a chat. A perfect place for a reunion of friends and family, Church View is a well equipped, comfy home . We will return.

"My only wish is that I'd thought to ask if we could check out after 10am on the Sunday."
Sorting kids out can be tricky at the best of times, but one of our party was poorly over night. You did your best when I called on the day to sort this out, but you were unable to get hold of the owner. When you're only staying 2 nights, 10am is very early. I know this is pretty standard for holiday lets.
