  • "This would be great for a weekend stay but not a whole week."

It was clean but the flat is very gloomy inside, and there is no freezer or smart TV. The bedroom was a little damp feeling and there is a door to the cellar that could not lock so I pushed a chair against it as I was worried about security. However, the place was very peaceful and the area lovely.

Thank you for your feedback There is a freezer in the utility area also the Tv is a smart Tv. This is Grange over Sands I don’t think you needed to worry about the cellar there is no way in so security isn’t a issue. Thank you for leaving the flat tidy Property Owner

  • "This is a beautiful 1 bedroom flat in a traditional Victorian building in Grange Over Sands."

It’s a village with a number of takeaways, convenience stores and restaurants based a 5 minutes car drive or 15 minutes walk. There is also Cartmel village less than 10 minutes away, where there are 2 Michelin star restaurants. The flat is very clean and tidy in a traditional style. It has all the facilities you need and is very spacious. It has a small garden with outside seating. The kitchen has all you need and there is plenty of fridge space. The bed was really comfortable and the living room was really comfortable. The only thing missing as it could really do with a smart TV. Although it does have a DVD player, most of us just don’t use them now. It would be nice to be able to log into Netflix. Smart TVs are so cheap now. Also no tin opener. But other than these 2 things no faults at all. I would love to stay here again hopefully I’ll be back soon.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback glad you enjoyed your stay it means a lot to us . I take on board the smart Tv and will certainly look in to that. Not sure what happened to the tin opener so sorry Property Owner

  • "Unfortunately we found this property to be damp the wardrobes had dehumidifier bags to collect the damp and the smell was unpleasant."

The layout of the flat didn’t work.

With reference to the above feedback thank you for the comments ,firstly I would like to say that not one customer that has booked so far this property has mentioned Damp ! (13 in total )The wardrobes are internal therefore we put hanging dehumidifier in to help moisture and air flow. As far as the layout not sure what you were expecting ? I would like to thank you on full marks for cleanliness this important to us . Kind regards Deborah Property Owner

  • "The property was as advertised a ground floor flat with an outside space."

Wooden garden bench was in a perilous state and not for sitting in but there were other small chairs outside. Nice glass lean-to with chairs and sunny aspect. Lounge was comfortable and well decorated all through. TV had great reception and massive range of programmes available. Free WiFi too. Flat was really well equipped with modern kitchen appliances and adequate cooking and eating utensils for the two of us. Overall it was spotlessly clean everywhere. Most importantly for me personally was a really comfortable bed and mattress as I’ve had spinal surgery and can suffer from a bad mattress but it’s not something you specify when looking for holiday accommodation! Bonus was great weather. All good thank you.

Thank you very much for your kind comments so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Garden Flat Kind regards Deborah Property Owner

About the location

GRANGE-OVER-SANDS

Cartmel 2 miles; Lake Windermere 8 miles; Kendal 10 miles.

The charming Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands is set between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay and offers one of the mildest climates in the north of England. Formerly a small fishing village, the introduction of the Furness Railway transformed Grange-over-Sands into a fashionable Edwardian resort. Today, the town has much to offer the visitor including a traffic-free promenade, delightful ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band concerts and excellent bird watching. Just a short drive away are Lake Windermere (8 miles), the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which still retain the charm and character that has endeared them to so many, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the L’Enclume restaurant, which has been voted the 4th best restaurant in the UK. Other attractions in the area include Levens Hall, with its Elizabethan Hall and world famous topiary gardens, Holker Hall, Furness Abbey, Sizergh Castle, a National Trust medieval house and gardens, and Conishead Priory, a Gothic revival country house. There is also the 25 mile Cistercian Way which starts at Grange over Sands. Set amidst the southern lakes, the attractive town of Grange-over-Sands makes a superb base from which to enjoy the whole of this magical area.
