  • A real home from home.

“Warm, cosy to return to. Excellent beds ... comfy duvets/pillows. Great shower pressure, lots of hot water for a bath. A wee welcome pack would be appreciated. Wonderful views. Ben was really helpful and friendly and his warm reception when we arrived set the tone for a great week.”

The property

Yew Tree Cottage is a delightfully updated 17th century property, full of character and traditional Lakeland charm.

Ideally situated close to the hamlet of Ings where guests will discover the award winning pub, The Watermill Inn, serving wonderful home cooked food and locally brewed ales.

The lively village of Windermere is only a short drive away, perfect for stocking up on groceries at Booths supermarket, browsing the shops and trying out some of its varied restaurants and cafés.

Windermere is also home to the flagship Lakeland shop, brim full of innovative homewares and baking equipment. The cottage itself is a real home-from-home, and guests will feel at ease as soon as they step into the cosy sitting room with exposed timbers, sumptuous leather sofas and pretty picture window.

The ambiance is welcoming, and an afternoon nap will be hard to resist.

During the day this room is light and airy, in the evening a place to curl up with a good book or to watch TV with fellow guests.

Discretely positioned behind the sitting area is the dining table, and then through to the well-equipped kitchen and access to the outside sitting area.

Upstairs are the two delightful bedrooms, both beautifully decorated and far too comfortable.

Guests share the modern bathroom with its invigorating power shower over the bath.

Yew Tree Cottage is located within the much admired holiday home park of Ings Mill Park which in turn is surrounded by 5 acres of woodland and set alongside the River Gowan.

For those in search of the perfect Lake District base, this could very well be just what you have been looking for.
